About this listen

Sometimes love is just out of reach…

Rancher and military veteran J.P. McCall loves simple pleasures. The satisfaction of working his family’s land. The freedom to come and go as he pleases. But ever since his two closest friends have married and started families of their own, J.P. realizes what he’s been missing. He's known plenty of women, but now he craves finding The One. And then Sara Worth comes crashing back into his life. She’s his buddy’s sister, the woman who was always out of reach.

Single mom Sara Worth has her hands full. After a disastrous early marriage, she is now writing bestselling books by day and caring for her two teenagers by night. That doesn’t leave a lot of me time. But when an innocent request for J.P.’s help leads to an unforgettable kiss, she’s intrigued - and unsure. Giving love a second chance feels impossible. But when the man from Sara’s past resurfaces, threatening everything she holds dear, J.P. will do whatever it takes to protect the woman who’s stealing his heart.

Great story. Two friends and the sister of one of my friends. Why have I never noticed her before, she had always been there with his friend. But now she had notice him too .

Good story. I really enjoyed this book until it ended leaving story hanging with no conclusion or at least a hint of the outcome. Very frustrating!

I loved the story and the performance. I was disappointed at the ending, however. There was no resolution Re Sarah’s son and his health or his acceptance or non acceptance of the new stepfather. It definitely needed an epilogue to bring all to closure.

Great book…incomplete ending

I’m really enjoying this author and so many of her books! Each one has a different perspective on the issues we all deal with at some time in life and it makes the story compelling and interesting.

I loved this sweet story!

The reading of this book sounds like Casey Kasem trying to do a southern accent which is not the accent in Montana. It was like listening to a grandpa tell a story and got very cringy during the sexual escapades. Had I listened to the sample first I would’ve just read the book. As always Linda Lael Miller wrote an
exceptional story and I hope we come back to Painted Creek in the future.
