About this listen

Professor of Archeology Henrietta "Harry" Knight becomes Countess of Axedale upon her father's death and takes a sabbatical from Cambridge University to begin refurbishing the long-neglected and run-down Axedale Hall. The child of a loveless marriage, witness to her father's infidelities and her mother's pain, Harry has no intention of ever falling in love.

Annie Brannigan is a survivor, remaining positive through hardships. As an agency housekeeper, she moves from post to post with her daughter Riley, taking care of people who have everything she will never have. Annie's greatest wish is to find her happy ever after, but she fears this dream will never come true.

Can love restore the countess's heart and the crumbling Axedale Hall, or will the foundations of love turn to dust at the first challenge?

So yes, I was on the edge of tears through this whole book. Such strong emotions, amazing chemistry between Annie and Henry, the character's were well developed and really enjoyable to follow. the narration was so well done I was hooked from the first chapter. I felt everything ,and for a while felt as if I was right there with them. This wonderful book is not a fall in. to bad and in love kinda book, Henry and Annie have to work past their fears, and build a True relationship. a romantically sexy courtship no one saw coming.
This is a must read... along with her other books all of which are amazing.

Jenny Frame did it again.. What an amazing book.

I just finished listening and loved this story! I’m so excited to see that there are two more books in the series! The story is awesome and the narrator makes it come to life!

My new favorite author and narrator combo!

This is not for you if you are not into butch characters.

This is for you if you like a little culture, a little romance, some sex and real character development. A great read!

I appreciate Nicola Victoria Vincent as always

Great romance, good story

What a book!! Couldn't put it down!! The reader is awesome -- the storyline is deep and the characters are excellent! Ms Frame is a provocative writer and could be said to be an archeologist of the heart! Bravo me lady -- keep writing! Loved this book!!

Really Deliciously written. I had already read the book because I'm a very big fan of Jennies genre, which is B/f. She really gets us.

Terrific!

Jenny Frame outdid herself here. I hope there is a sequel featuring more of Axdale's citizens! Great characterization, beautiful setting and of course build to romance. I'll listen to this one again.

Excellent in every way!

Great story, and narration. This book was well detailed in the background of the story as well as teaching about Roman history. I'll be looking to read/listen to more of this author and narrator Nicola Victoria Vincent.

Loved It

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed Courting the Countess. Very enjoyable listen. Great narration. These books by Jenny Frame are meant to be enjoyed. Nothing heavy here. Maybe someday reality will catch up w/ the scenarios depicted here. Loved "Harry", Annie and Riley. I would love hear more about them.

Very Enjoyable Listen.

This story is cute and sweet with spice but the one MC is a bit frustrating. I still loved it. Damn this is the 1st time I heard this Narrator and she is excellent. This story would not have been so good if she was not the Narrator or if I simply read it on Kindle.

Frustratingly good

Awww, I loved this! Yes, at times it was an extreme cheese fest (especially towards the end). Yes, it’s fully, unapologetically committed to the ole pristine-virgin-tames-irredeemable-playboy trope. Also, if you’re someone who doesn’t go in for hard drawn femme/butch normative roles you might want to pass on Jenny Frame in general, as that’s totally her jam, and this book is no exception.

And you know what? I don’t regret a single second I spent listening to it. This was a charming and delightful way to pass an afternoon. Jenny Frame definitely has a similar formula she uses for every story, but she does it with the flair of a seasoned, talented writer and storyteller. Nicola Victoria Vincent is hands down one of the best narrators in this genre. Listening to her is always a treat, but she especially seems to jive with Jenny Frames’s books. They make a good team. Coincidentally, Annie and Harry also make a good team. As do Harry and Riley. Basically lots of good teams going on around here. Drop a credit on this title, you won’t regret it.

Delightful
