Publisher's summary

Away games, back seats, and the locker room after hours.... Get ready!

Clay:

Marymount girls are good girls. We're chaste, we're untouched, and even if we weren't, no one would know, because we keep our mouths shut.

Not that I have anything to share anyway. I never let guys go too far. I'm behaved.

Beautiful, smart, talented, popular, my skirt's always pressed, and I never have a hair out of place. I own the hallways, walking tall on Monday and dropping to my knees like the good Catholic girl I am on Sunday.

That's me. Always in control.

Or so they think. The truth is that it's easy for me to resist them, because what I truly want, they can never be. Something soft and smooth. Someone dangerous and wild.

Unfortunately, what I want I have to hide. In the locker room after hours. In the bathroom stall between classes. In the showers after practice. My head swimming. My hand up her skirt.

For me, life is a web of secrets. No one can find out mine.

Olivia:

I cross the tracks every day for one reason - to graduate from this school and get into the Ivy League. I'm not ashamed of where I come from, my family, or how everyone at Marymount thinks my skirts are too short and my lipstick is too red.

Clay Collins and her friends have always turned up their noses at me. The witch with her beautiful skin, clean shoes, and rich parents who torments me daily and thinks I won't fight back.

At least not until I get her alone and find out she's hiding so much more than just what's underneath those pretty clothes.

The princess thinks I'll scratch her itch. She thinks she's still pure as long as it's not a guy touching her.

I told her to stay on her side of town. I told her not to cross the tracks.

But one night, she did. And when I'm done with her, she'll never be pure again.

Tryst Six Venom is a stand-alone F/F bully romance suitable for listeners 18+.

My First FF Read

This was my first FF read and I was not disappointed! Whenever I looked for a FF books, I kept seeing and receiving recommendations for Tryst Six Venom. This was also the first book I’ve read by Penelope, and I’m a fan!

I love Olivia and Clay and their enemies to lovers story. Clay is such an awful person at the beginning, scared to accept who she is and what she wants, and unfortunate, this happens to a lot of people. But Olivia helps her past all that and shows her there’s more to the world then what she’s used to. There’s roadblocks and major issues along the way, but it works out in the end. The epilogue was perfection and everything I hoped it would be. I love Olivia’s family, and her protective they are of each other.

I need more FF books like this in my life….Penelope, I’m looking at you. Tryst Six has been one of my favorite reads of 2021! I hope to see this group of characters again in future books, fingers crossed. Thank you Penelope, for this amazing book and these characters! And thank you to Desireé Ketchum, Valentina Ortiz for bringing these characters to life through this audiobook!!

Its alright

The story is ok, about what you'd expect from a Penelope Douglas novel. Not great, but not bad. What kills the story is the voice actress that was chosen for Olivia, her mic quality is awful. There's parts of the dialogue where it sounds like she's mumbling, and therefore, one can barely understand what she's saying. She also sounds incredibly bored the entire time she's reading. I'm gonna download the book and read it myself to see if it makes the story any better.

I NEED MORE PENELOPE!

Okay so first of all Olivia’s narration does start out a little “off putting”. Maybe sound quality issues but it gets better so don’t let that stop you. I would have finished within a day if I didn’t force myself to stop and that was only because I had to work the next day. This love story is so real and well written. The roller coaster of emotions, the chemistry between the characters is just *chef’s kiss*. I did struggle with the fact these are kids in high school but then I quickly remembered what I was doing as a kid in high school while figuring out my own sexuality. I honestly can’t say enough about how great this book is. I wish it didn’t end. I wish Penelope would write another!

I really wanted to hate this story, but….

Confession: my wife made me read the book and I got the audible after because house chores. Before starting on this book, I read other reviews and summaries of this book I was horrified. Clay was overtly cruel towards Olivia. Initially, I couldn’t imagine any type of friendship could arise from these two characters. As the story progressed it became obvious that it was an unhealthy relationship. The only thing that kept me reading/listening was Clay’s inner monologue about her relationship with her family and Olivia’s inner monologue about her relationship with her brothers. I was really put off by her unhealthy obsession with Olivia.
As the characters developed I started to understand that Clay is the classic bully because of other bullies or trauma from her home. Having dealt with my own bully now friend, I started to understand her violent outbursts. The story is a rollercoaster of emotions. My stomach is still recovering from the swooping

Romeo and Juliet

I found it funny the play was Romeo and Juliet and the main characters in this book were the same thing. Clay and Liv grew on me as characters. It’s true a lot of past does shape us into who we are or our actions…. But something that can’t be an excuse to give as to why you hurt someone or not honest with your feeling. 2 strong female leads was great to see. I know that’s Pen’s way of writing and I love it!

Great Book

Helped me work through and let out some frustrations. Great writing. The character development was vast and seemless. Recommend!

All the tension and yearning

Clay is the popular princess of Senior Year; she’s rich, pretty, and everyone wants her or wants to be her. Olivia is from the *other side of the tracks*. She is also “out” and Clay doesn’t even know that she is gay, but there’s just something about Olivia that she can’t stay away from.

The yearning, the tension, the drama. This book has it all. And when the tension finally pops. 😮‍💨

This one reminded me a bit of 𝘗𝘶𝘯𝘬 57, a bully romance set in high school by the same author, so if you enjoyed that one, I bet you’ll also enjoy this one.

I’m finding that out of all romance settings, high school probably isn’t my favorite, which might just be my *age* talking 👵🏻, but it’s sometimes fun to walk the halls of schools that are frankly nothing like mine were. 🤣

I enjoyed both of the narrators in this one. I was a little worried having two female narrators (dual narration) might get confusing, but they both had quite unique voices, and I never had trouble deciphering who’s POV I was listening to.

What this book is giving:
✅ Bully Romance
✅ FF Romance
✅ “Hate” to Love
✅ High Schoolers
✅ Tension
✅ Class struggles

Look out for:
⚠️ Mentions of suicide
⚠️ Attempted sexual assault

Rating:
