Publisher's summary

In Green Valley, Tennessee, everybody knows everybody, but nobody knows Sabrina Logan.

Sabrina has been hiding in plain sight for years. Living her life inside of books, dutifully helping her family, and hoping no one will notice her. So far? Mission accomplished!

Yet when sexy - and distrustful - Sheriff Wyatt Monroe returns to town with his daughters, he definitely notices the quiet librarian everyone else overlooks. The single dad can’t seem to shake thoughts of shy Sabrina. Without quite understanding the impulse, Wyatt makes his mission finding her again, so he can...well, he’ll just have to reckon with that later.

What Wyatt discovers is a woman who trusts too easily, but who’s afraid to live. Trust doesn’t come easily to Wyatt. But living? That’s never been a problem. And he’d sure like to show her how.

Crime and Periodicals is a full-length contemporary romantic comedy, can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, and is book two in the Green Valley Library series, Green Valley world, Penny Reid Book universe.

loved this adorable couple!!!

I adored this book! Give me anything set in Green Valley and I will happily listen all day. Pair this book with the incredible and sexy voiced Chris Brinkley along with new to me, Regan Boggs and I was loving this sweet couple!

if you haven't started the Green Valley Library series yet, you could start with book 1 or do what I did and start with this one!

I didn't start with book 1, however, I'm in love with Wyatt and his entire family so I will be grabbing all of the books after I get the rest of the Monroe family!!

Sabrina and Wyatt are just the most adorable fictional couples I've ever read!
I'm curious if his brothers are like him or more bad boy! Can't wait to find out!

A new favorite

Nora Everly is my favorite of the GVL authors - her stories are lovely and believable with just enough sizzle. Reagan Boggs was the perfect Sabrina.. and Chris Brinkley is the perfect every man.

I love visiting Green Valley and I especially love that Nora's stories are plausible - they're things that could happen to real people. I hope to see more from her.

Loved meeting Everett!

I think I smiled for about 90% of this one. Chris Brinkley is the most talented narrator I’ve listened to, and I am admittedly a stalking fan of his work. Everett is adorable and honestly, sometimes unbelievably unrealistic. Unless it’s just my nine brothers, two sons, husband and all the other men I’ve been around, but I’ve never experienced one of them wanting to talk about feelings so I appreciated Everett’s caring personality, however fantastical in my reality. Everett is also self-aware of his nerdiness and worries that he’ll never find a partner who accepts him for who he is.
Willa is as independent as she is insecure, and it’s easy to believe her personality change around Tommy. That happens in many relationships. Her relationship development with Everett is accelerated in the book, but we didn’t need twelve more chapters, I would think, to understand that they are going to be together. Willa realizing she can be strong is a good lesson for true life relationships.
I loved Everett’s mom, she was such a mom.
The book was fun to read, and the Monroe boys are all so cute. I looked forward to every Everett Chapter to enjoy Chris’s narration. On your the next book.

Meh...

The whole storyline felt rushed. One minute Sabrina can't talk to anyone, then she loses her virginity and going out. I appreciate the character growth, but it all seemed extremely rushed in order to finish the book.

The female narrator was not good. Her voice for Sabrina was childish and hard to listen to. I had a hard time determining when she was reading dialogue, Sabrina's thoughts , or the story. There were times when it seemed like she didn't pause between sentences. I honestly wanted to return it buy Audible wouldn't let me.

Brinkley was amazing, which is the main reason why I got the book and being part of Pennyverse.

Great narration!

I honestly don't know why I'm rating this so low. I absolutely LOVED these new-to-me narrators, the characters were well developed, and the writing seemed good. But the story just never drew me in. And there were A LOT of cameo visits from other book couples, books that I have never read, so I found it kind of confusing and annoying, though my guess is that other readers will love seeing the Winstons again.

Weak story / narration

Chris Brinkley was brilliant as always. The female narrator was breathy to the point of distraction. The story didn’t really offer much in the way of a dynamic plot.
