About this listen

Five years in prison or five years working as an undercover agent?

Not the easiest choice for Ana Moreno, who has a history of B and E convictions and a problem with authority. But it's a decision she and four other felons are willing to make to stay out of a jail cell.

When a deadly shipment of Ecstasy heads for San Francisco, Ana's team is sent to stop it. Ana's task: get close to the handsome and dangerous Jonas Saven, right-hand man of a suspected drug dealer with a deadly agenda. As Ana uncovers a web of secrets, betrayal and revenge, her heated attraction to Saven grows.

But with time running out to stop the dangerous drug lord, Ana must complete her mission--even if it costs her everything...

This book was mainly about how much physical pain the heroine could stand. I wouldn't have labeled this a romance as there was very little interaction between the hero/heroine. The author spent most of her efforts having her heroine beaten up and/ or tortured. Unfortunately, I was never drawn in by either the hero/heroine as they were cold untrusting people who were always at odds with each other. The other characters in the story were much more interesting. The constant mentioning of the heroine's issues with the color of her skin got very old and the story really began to drag during the second half. Most importantly, The narrator was ALL WRONG for this book as her voice was way too old and precise for a bunch of "hip" street-kids-turned-cop-squad.

HIGH ON VIOLENCE, LOW ON ROMANCE---
