About this listen

This is Cruelty, the epic 10-episode serial novel collected for the first time in one massive volume containing thousands of words of horror.

On a lonely stretch of deserted Texas highway, Will Longmire breaks down. But he's not alone. In the dead of night, Innis Blake hits someone - or something - with her car. The figure should not be getting up. But it is. An unstoppable force is after Will and Innis. And before the night is over, both strangers will know the face of Cruelty. Forgiveness is only a few miles down the road, but safety is nowhere in sight. Every monster has its origins.

I liked it.....then I didn't....

Then I liked it again. The concept and plot were good but there were parts, that to me, seemed like filler.

Chapters playing out of order and readers voice turning off and on like a bad signal... Would have been a good story

I started out really liking this book for the first five or so chapters maybe more. However after a while the chapters played out of order.. I have no idea what was going on in many chapters because of this. PLUS, around chapter 19 his words kept skipping so it was too hard to figure out what the heck he was saying. It's a shame because I really would have enjoyed this book if you played all the way through correctly.
I really don't even think I should have to pay for this one

So bad. I still loved it.

This was as poorly written a novel as I've ever read. Really. Clumsy, poorly researched, awkwardly paced.... I still really enjoyed it. Like a bad B movie or cat memes. "The thought went through his head like the Kool-Aid man through a brick wall. 'Oh yeah!'" ... What?!! It's not Faulkner but you should still listen.

At some point,

What didn’t you like about Kevin R. Tracy’s performance?

The choice of voices at some point made me turn away or better yet, off.

Any additional comments?

There's a high probability this review will do nothing to aid you in your purchase. Sorry, but the voices chosen are everything. It's not like when you read something in silence is it; You can change things at your leisure. At some point the voices chosen here could easily clear a room of flying insects. I’m no BIG fan of graphic violence either, did I mention that? One might wonder why I bought the damn thing. In the end, I may revisit it later out of respect for the process. After all, Mr. Lorn is published and Mr. Tracy is being heard and I'm left wishing I was either.

Confused and horrible

I must be honest it took me over 3 months to finish this book, I kept thinking I would have an eureka moment when everything became clear no such luck. I do not recommend this book at ALL!
