Publisher's summary

"I listened to you, years too late."

“I don't have a right to complain.”

Tattoo artist Floyd Turner's faith in justice was destroyed when he was a rookie cop. He struggled for a couple years with drinks and his own anger. He's long past that stage - now he runs a tattoo shop downtown. But despite his fulfilling career, he's nervous about the upcoming high school reunion. Not having a date to bring there reveals his insecurity: he aches for something more. And then, when he thinks things can't get any more stressful, his former patrol partner walks in.

“These tattoos better make a difference.”

After his past caught up with him, cop Greyson Peters became a fitness instructor and moved back home. His old career was hard from the start, and he's always struggled to find a healthy outlet. He's slowly healing, pouring his energy into exercise, but he's still got unsightly scars he wants covered. It's hard to be a playboy when his self-confidence keeps taking hits. Worse yet, his family keeps pressuring him to get back into the force.

“I turned my pain outward, you turned it inward.”

With Floyd's family chasing him for a debt he's long since paid and Greyson struggling to find closure for the career he still misses, the two old classmates are drawn together. Both men are openly gay now, and they slowly realize they could always be fake dates for the reunion. As their feelings strengthen, can they even hold out until the reunion to admit that they're both afraid of wanting more? And can they open their eyes and see the support all around them?

Crunch is a steamy, stand-alone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliff-hanger.

2nd chance vibe

This is a great feel good, little sad comfort read. We branch out to the Riley brothers friends and I really enjoyed getting to know Floyd better. Narration of course was excellent. Overall a great listen.

overcoming your past

I enjoyed this story as a book and I think this narration is a great companion piece. Michael Pauley does another great narration and helps bring the characters to life.

Fabulous!

O.k we now have book #4 of the Riley Brothers Series.
Tattoo artist, Floyd, and fitness instructor Grayson both need dates for their high school reunion.
They thought they would make it simple and decide to be fake dates. What could go wrong? They thought it would be simpler to pretend to be each other dates, but what happens when real feelings start to come in to play?
The audio for this book is just as amazing. Michael Pauley knows how to real us in with his voice. The way he brings the characters to life is awesome.

Loved Floyd and Greyson!

This was an excellent addition to the Riley Brother's series. I was so happy that we got Floyd and Greyson's stories. These two had some past hurdles to overcome and they do it beautifully. There are some sensitive issues from both of the MC's pasts that were handled well by the other characters and by the author. These two men build a strong foundation for their relationship and find ways to be there for each other. Floyd and Greyson may not actually be Riley brothers but they are so much a part of the Riley family that they may as well be. I love reading stories where people have a safe place to land, friends to support them, and build a loving relationship. E. Davies is top notch at giving us those stories with very little angst, if any and I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series. As always Michael Pauley did an excellent job on the narration for this one!

A strong pair

I loved how Floyd and Greyson were able to overcome their respective pasts to be the support and strength that they each need. It is lovely to see their connection and how their personalities mesh so well with one another. I love the support that they receive from all of their friends no matter what it is they want or need. I love the narrator and how well he does these stories.

Fabulous series with a fantastic narrator

*sigh* I love this series. I was a bit curious when I found out Floyd was going to be the subject of this book. We saw him a little bit in the previous books, but we really didn't know much about him. I wanted to know what he was going to ask Alex for help with in the last book, and I'm glad we found out what it was. I do wish we knew a little more about the dynamics between Floyd and his parents and I wish I knew a little bit more about what happened to make Greyson really leave his job and have people talking about him. I can guess, but I'd really like to see more story and resolution to that piece of his character. At first was a bit deflated at how the Brett story built up and then went away so quickly, but after processing it all, I thought it was handled brilliantly. It showed Greyson being able to control himself, Floyd be able to stand up for himself, and the two of them trusting the other to handle it right. Any other resolution wouldn't have made sense (especially with what a coward it sounded like Brett was years ago).

I am finding that I love the writing style of E. Davies. The books aren't too angsty but still have a good story, I get to see the perspectives of all of the main characters, and the guys are just wonderful. I love being able to revisit the Riley Brothers. I'm looking forward to the next book!!!

I listened to this as a re-read on audiobook, I am once again struck by how amazing Michael Pauley is as a narrator. He breathes Ed's words to life, and I really can't get enough. Fabulous series with a fantastic narrator.

Enjoyable Story

Crunch is book 4 in The Riley Brothers series. This is an emotional friends to lovers second chance story as Greyson moves back to his home town and wants to cover up some of the scars he's left on his body. Floyd is the tattoo artist Greyson ends up going to. Greyson and Floyd have an awkward reunion but it soon turns to something more as Greyson spends time in Floyd's tattoo chair and they get to know each other again and fall in love.
Narrator Michael Dean does a fabulous job.

You are a tattoo on my heart

I loved it when two mature men fall in love. Floyd and Greyson were partners when they were in the force and then they went their own ways. Now years later, Floyd is running a tattoo shoo and doing okay. And Greyson has become a fitness instructor. He has overcome a lot to reach where he is and he wants to cover his old cutting scars with tattoo and reborn anew.

When these two formers partners meet again, they realized that they can’t escape destiny. They were meant to be back then and they were meant to be now.

Low-key, sweet, charming and makes you feel all good and snuggly inside. I love stories like this. E. Davies really is a great writer which can make you feel all things. And as always, Michael Dean did a fine job narrating the story. Enjoyed it.

Great story with Riley Brothers Friends

This story is a continuation of the Riley Brothers Series, with their friends now finding love. Tattoo artist, Floyd & fitness instructor Grayson need dates for their high school reunion. Deciding to be fake dates, they decide to spend more time together and have to start fighting real feelings.
This book is a wonderful continuation of the series. You now get a chance to meet people that had popped up in the first 3 books and learn their story. The story is well done & the audio performance is just as amazing as the other books! Can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out!
