Publisher's summary

Nothing is safe around Kristyl Barnette. Windows break. Books rocket across the room. Lights flicker. Strange occurrences follow the 16-year-old everywhere. She's an outcast at her school, but everything changes in the blink of an eye.

When tragedy forces her to move in with her estranged aunt Jodi in the small town of Clearwater, Michigan, Kristyl tries to leave her past behind. She makes friends and catches the attention of Owen Marsh, who accepts her without question and who may be able to understand her better than anyone.

Owen isn't the only one who notices her. The mysteriously alluring Fox Holloway draws Kristyl's eye whenever he's around. And Clearwater High's chief mean girl, Crystal Jamison, has her sights set on Kristyl and will stop at nothing to prove what Kristyl really is.

A witch.

Magic can be as dangerous as fire, and Aunt Jodi wants Kristyl to have nothing to do with it. But when a mysterious illness threatens her aunt's life, Kristyl will do anything to cure her. Enlisting the help of witches could save Jodi, but is dealing in magic worth the consequences?

Marred by cliff hanger ending

Any additional comments?

First book in the Clearwater Witches series.

This is a fairly typical young adult paranormal romance book marred by a cliff hanger ending. The protagonist is a transferred high school student with uncontrolled telekinetic and other psychic abilities. Her mother was recently killed in an automobile accident while her father apparently abandoned her several years before. She discovers there are witches at the high school and she is targeted by them.

The author does a good job of describing her emotions and how she reacts to what is going on around her. Unfortunately, the story ends at a critical stage with a cliff hanger and nothing resolved.

great book for witchy lovers

I was gifted this audio ARC from the author for a honest and unbiased review.
When I say this book is amazing I am not lying.
This book had everything I wanted in a book it had magic, romance, friendship, time travel, murder and much more.
Weird things seem to happen around Krissa that seem to be cause by her. Krista is given fresh start at her Aunt in Clearwater after the death of her mom.
I found this story to be really interesting and had me trying to get through it in one setting. I really enjoyed that it didn't dive straight into the magic and the story worked.
It was great to see a witch story that actually rings true to being a Wiccan witch. The author did her research. I was not expecting the plot twist that happened right at the end, great setup for book 2.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves Urban Fantasy or which you books.

Amazing YA series

What did you love best about Crystal Magic?

Learning to understand what was happening Krissa and she was able to get away from her old school

Any additional comments?

This is a YA series but it is a great book for listeners of all ages. I love getting to see Krissa come into her own. The cliff hanger leaves me wanting more so I can't wait till I can get the next book in the series. I almost listened to this book in one sitting it was so hard to put down.

Horrible narrator

Her voice was so bad I got only two minutes in before I returned it. Story sounded like it would've be good had it been read by someone else
