Stone Barrington enters the cutthroat fray of politics in the stunning thriller from the New York Times best-selling author.
Stone Barrington has traveled to Los Angeles for the Democratic National Convention and finds that the political scene has been shaken up. First Lady Katherine Rule Lee is running for the party nomination, a loyal senator has died and left her seat vacant, and the Secret Service has received a credible threat toward Kate. It will take all of Stone's discretion and powers of persuasion to help arrange things for a desirable outcome.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I always wait with eager anticipation for the new Stone Barrington novel, it is like a gift every time I pressed play. This one was a box of socks and a neck tie. I don't know if Stone has grown too big and rich for me to relate to, or if it was the lack of tension, I just did not care what happened in this book. Stone used to be an exciting guy, this had all the action of a senate hearing on making blueberry waffles the official breakfast offering in the Capital Hill dining room. We went through all the motions, the characters that we love and hate were there, but it just fell flat. I can say that I hope this is the build up to something explosive - maybe it's just the first offering and the socks and tie will match the beautifully tailored suit in the next installment. Keep swinging Mr. Woods and I will keep reading! On a side note the performance was fantastic as always...Would you ever listen to anything by Stuart Woods again?
Yes of course! I really enjoy his books! (however I could do with out the political commentary)What does Tony Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

What did you love best about Cut and Thrust?
I have been a Stuart Wood's fan for many years and have downloaded all the books Audible has. I believe the latest, Cut and Thrust, is the best read in his Stone Barrington collection. It ties up some loose ends (characters) and made me laugh out loud with delight! I hope anyone who has enjoyed Stone Barrington in the past will read this latest book.Best ever!
