I greatly enjoy this author and this series

First thoughts about the cover of Dead Siege & Survival by TW Brown? Zombies children! The zombie children are creepy and very eerie. I absolutely love the feel and flavor of both innocence and horror they portray. The shot up vehicles in the background and the random shambling zombies give the over all flow an even creepier vibe.

There seems to be a few main characters in this story. They alternate every third chapter. My favorite is Vix Kirkpatrick in this story. I love that she’s sassy and not afraid to say what she’s thinking. It’s also a plus that this ‘character’ has read lots of zombie stories so she is ahead of the game on staying alive.

I greatly enjoy this author and this series. This books would be a little hard to get into the storyline if you picked this book up without reading the other four first though. Not that it couldn’t stand alone, it could. But there is so much back story already filled in with the first four that the reader would loose if he/she didn’t read the others before this one. An example being Steve’s story and how he became the leader of his group. Or Kevin and how he came to be out on a run for medications during the winter when his camp/group was overtaken by Wanda Bears.

The Narrator is Andrew McFerrin. This is one of my favorite narrators. I absolutely love the way he reads a story. His accents for different characters definitely have their own accents and they do not blend together. That’s always a plus when you’re getting into a story. This book is Dead: Siege & Survival from the Dead Series, Book 5 by TW Brown. The length of this story is twelve hours and fifty minutes.

Warning – This story does have some gory and bloody scenes. Would not recommend for anyone under the age of sixteen.

This story left me wondering about the lengths people will go for family and friends. How much loyalty can be bought or be taken by brute force? Is that actual loyalty, or is it greed and fear? At what point do people stop caring about what they can get from a situation, about the consequences from their actions, if they stop being ‘loyal’ to those that bought their loyalty by hook or crook?

Tons of action and awesome characters!

What made the experience of listening to DEAD: Siege & Survival the most enjoyable?

Narration is great. The series is the most realistic I've read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of DEAD: Siege & Survival?

Wow. There are so many. It seems one great scene follows another. But I have to say I'm still imagining the scene from the last chapter. It was heartbreaking. But I don't want to give any spoilers.

Which scene was your favorite?

All the scenes were pretty tense in this book of the series so I can't really claim just one as a favorite.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Definitely the last chapter. My face is still wet from the tears.

Any additional comments?

Love this series!

Keep bringing on the DEAD!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This is another great continuation of the zombie apocalypse story. The narrator continues to be FANTASTIC! Seriously, Andrew McFerrin really is a great narrator. We continue to follow several groups from the previous books. Like with the walking dead series, you get some new characters in this one. To me, this helps keep things interesting. Another great installment in the series.

What??

What?? The ending was not my favorite. Why? You'll have to read it to understand. That being said, suffice to say, I am glad there is another book that has already been written so that I don't have to wait to find out what happened. Cliff hangers are not my favorite way to end a book. This author is so dang good, I tend to read all day long (actually, I have the audio version, so my ear phones are in my ears all day) and, when I have to stop, I cannot stop thinking about it. There are very few authors that effect me that way. It breaks my heart when people I have come to like in the story hurt...or die. Life sucks like that. Andrew McFerrin is an excellent narrator. His character voices are right on from book to book and character to character. I am able to keep them apart by their voices and the timber of his voice is such that I don't tire of hearing him narrate.
I'm ready for the next book!!

Not my fave, but enjoyed it.

I don't care for the Egyptian story line at all- just doesn't interest me. So far, the British characters are not my cup o tea either...

amazing addition to series

T W Brown's Dead:Siege & Survival is the fifth book in a series about a zombie apocalypse and different perspectives of it. It continues in same style as the other books by giving the reader multiple perspectives of the going ons. I was feeling pretty emotional during this book. I'm still addicted and cant wait to read next installment.

Narrator does a fantastic job bringing the story to life. Really brought the characters' personalities out. Love it!

More zombie adventure

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were a few lines that I laughed out loud listening to - which is a testament to the narrator enjoying the written content.
"the zombie version of the stink eye"
"what- the hell- is *kuru*?"
"..was like roaches when the lights come on..."

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the book just as much as the rest in the series. You pretty much know by this point in the series if you're going to like the story lines and I do. I still like Steve and Kevin's story lines best.
I smiled at the mention of Mark Tufo, another great zombie series to check out, books on the shelf of a zombie fanatics' book shelf. It was fun to see the shout out.
At this point I'll keep listening as long as there are books in the series to listen to. I've grown to really appreciate the narrator for this series.
Highly enjoyable, good zombie adventure fun -- and occasionally a curve ball where people that we "know" die- which not every author does too often.
Definitely worth checking out the series! It starts with Dead: The Ugly Beginning.
