Publisher's summary

Her dreams shattered. Her world destroyed.

He can save and heal her....

Only if she dares.

Trying to rebuild her life, 17-year-old Lacey Robinson moves from one coast to the other to start over. But the pain and devastation of her past can't be left behind - not after a loss like that.

Starting over is always easier said than done....

When Lacey meets the brooding, sexy Kade Maxwell, he just might have the magic touch that awakens her feminine side, and a kiss that erases her worst nightmares.

As Lacey begins to heal, her dreams of playing baseball take a turn for the worse - a chauvinistic team captain has other plans. And when Kade comes face-to-face with a violent rival from his past, Lacey's fears and pain resurface, threatening to destroy what they repaired. Together, they must dare to fight, so they can dare to find a future.

What a great book!!! I absolutely loved it!!!

This audiobook was amazing! It has great characters and story line. I'm already looking forward to the next book in this series! It was so hard to put it down once I started listening to it.

The narrator did a good job and brought the story to life.

Lacey has gone through a lot with the loss of her mom and sister. She moves across the country to start a new life in a new school. She is tough but flashbacks from the night that changed her life keep plaguing her.

Kade is a gorgeous boy that is taken aback by Lacey's explosive strong temper. He falls for her and has to work hard to get her attention. He also has some heartache from his own past.

Absolutely delightful audiobook. Only of my favorite stories.

Horrible mispronunciations!!!

The characters are not my cup of tea...I don't think I'm cut out for New Adult.

More than that though, Audible, the director, the narrator, and anyone else involved in the production should be appalled that the words "disheveled" and "peripheral" are so badly mispronounced!

I WANT MORE!!!!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Dare to Kiss to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but the audio kept me listening very carefully. I will definitely listen to more of this authors books. I will definitely be checking out the narrator to.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved this story! I found myself sitting for long periods waiting to hear what happened. One minute I'm laughing, the next I have tears in my eyes.

Which scene was your favorite?

I LOVED the line that went something like, "He went in his room. I didn't." I laughed out loud. Such a well written book with lots of funny lines.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The narrator was really good. I found myself listening to the story wanting more. I loved how the story went from funny to serious. Lacey is all hot and heavy about Kade one minute and then the next she is lost in thoughts of her mom and sister getting killed. I liked the relationship between Lacey and her dad to. Of course the sex scenes caught my interest. First love is so beautiful and innocent.

Good story, horribly narrated

I really enjoyed the book, it's an interesting read and her dealing with the ptsd was something new. I really am looking forward to reading book 2. I think it would have been a better read if it was told from his and her POV. I have to say the narration was really bad. Not only did she mispronounce simple word like disheveled but it sounded like it was being read in tunnel sometimes. I really hope the second isn't as poorly narrated. Maybe I got a bad copy.....

Overall Good Book 1 Major Perplexing Issue/Flaw

The good stuff; this is a well written book by S.B. Alexander. It was frustrating yet understandable that (the heroine) Lacey Robinson was unable to share or trust easily, given her super traumatic past life devastation.

Kade Maxwell (hero and 1 of 3 triplets) is every girls dream! Not only good-looking, handsome, understanding, hot, etc. he wants to help save Lacey whenever there is a conflict. He swoops in like a superhero and is able to take care of most of the issues or assist her when asked.

It is more unique than the run-of-the-mill romance. The content is great- just ignore the unbelievable scenarios, of which there aren't many.

The questionable stuff. This is categorized as Teens> Romance & Friendship. It is NOT for a teenager. There are very descriptive, adult situations throughout the last half of the book. The only thing teenage about it is the age of the characters. It should be labeled as Contemporary Romance with mature themes in the summary – which there are not.

For the story, one thing kept bugging me. I may be behind the times, but the last time I checked boys play baseball and girls play softball. An exception, I come from a very, very small high school. One year there were not enough girls to make up a softball team, so the girls who wanted to play a spring sport WERE allowed to play on the baseball team. That was an exception. Since this story takes place in or near the Boston area I cannot imagine this scenario unfolding.

Amanda Fugate–Moss is a narrator that I have listened to on and off for almost 2 years. When I'm interested in a book and see that Amanda is the narrator, I pick it up. It is a no-brainer. She is an excellent performer.

Note: Mis-Categorized, mature themes, language and descriptions of past violent acts.

Caution: Teenage angst to the nth degree

Any additional comments?

I had a hard time with this listen. It was a good story with the basic high school drama but too much of the narration happened inside Lacey's head. In fact, many, many times I wasn't even sure if Lacey was talking or thinking. That could have been the narration but I found myself way too many times cocking my head at something I thought was said by Lacey but was actually thought and vice versa.

Be warned: Being inside a teenagers head with self-professed PTSD can be a chore. You won't like the ending either. You will not be rewarded for spending time in Lacey's world with a resolution. There are cliffhangers aplenty.

This is book one in the Maxwell series but I can't help but think this would have been a more enjoyable listen had it been told from the POV of a Maxwell. Those brothers were charming with unique quirks that were more endearing than Lacey's. Perhaps book two will do just that.

great story

This was a great story, I have read it 3 times.

I thought I would enjoy listening to it as much as reading but I have to be honest the narrator was much to be desired. She was quite and boring and I had to turn it off several times because I could only take so much.

There was so much excitement in the book and the narrators monotone was so low and slow that you never felt the feelings the character were portraying

If it's the same narrator for the follow up books I think I will need to skip on the audio versions
