Publisher's summary

There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I'm coming for you....

When Erith directs me to infiltrate the enemy and topple them from within, I immediately accept the challenge. I figure it'll be easy until a stunning warrior goddess crosses my path and diverts my attention. The problem? She's in league with those I was sent to take down. However, I soon discover there is more to her than meets the eye and quickly find my mission divided: Disband this new group of Fae Others, and save the gorgeous Light from her family - and herself. All it takes is one look, one conversation to know that she's mine, and I will chance Death's displeasure to make it so. But the risks are great. Because when you fall in love with the enemy, more than your heart is on the line.

Contains mature themes.

Another great Reaper story

If you like Donna Grant and her Reaper series then this book is for you. It can be read as a stand alone but I wouldn’t recommend it as there is so much backstory that won’t make sense if you don’t know the series. I highly recommend the entire Dark World Series and all of the spin-offs like the Reapers series. Victoria McGloven returns as the narrator and brings a continuity to the series that I enjoy.

The Others try to rise again... infront of a Reape

Dark Alpha’s Obsession is a Reaper book, and is a part of the Greater Dark World—Fae, Druids, Warriors and Dragon Kings. This book is a part of series of books and really should not be read as a stand-alone book, long built story arcs are coming to a close.

On a mission to infiltrate the Others, Rordan finds his match in a light Fae named Fianna. She is head of security for her brother Dorcha who is a recruiter for the Others. There is an instant attraction and a lot of distrust between them. Once they make their way to each other of jumping the hurtles of each of their past, they face a challenge that could separate them forever.

This book has a lot of information about the Others, what has happened to them and a glimpse of what they are doing now. If the this doesn’t wet you appetite on the book, you get to see Xaneth and Balladyn!

My obsession for all things Reaper continues

Dark Alpha's Obsession started with a really slow build. I wanted to know who these people were almost as much as the reaper, Rordan, did. I wanted to know what Fianna had done in her younger years. What was it about Ruarc that made him a key link. Who is Dorcha and why is he important. I kept reading, searching for the answers. The author just kept leading me deeper and deeper into the story.

Then it happened. The drama magnified. The twists became erratic. The teasers became more tantalizing. I became absorbed in the story. I became ensconced in the drama. Chills occurred with every page I turned. With every chapter more secrets were revealed. The conflicts were intense.

Softening the darkness was the growing romance between Rordan and Fianna. I began to trust in Fianna. The slow build of the story became a slow build romance. The possibilities were endless.

At the end of the story, my heart got her happily ever after but the fight continued. I have just have one question, what happened to Ruarc? I can't wait for future books to find the answer to that question and discover how the Reapers destroy the Others.

Dark Alpha’s Obsession

Rordan is undercover to try to figure out about the Fae Others. Fianna is the sister and head security guard for her brother who is the one the Reapers want to know move about. We are starting to learn more about who the new enemies of Death and her Reapers are. There are some familiar faces, though we don’t see much of Cael’s Reapers in this one. By my count there is only three Reapers left that need books, and I have to wonder after this one if former friends are becoming enemies. I am sure it will be a wild ride.

I love this book 📖!

This book is amazing 👏! I love Rordan. He is amazing. I feel like it's unfair that his dad die without knowing what Rordan's sisters had done to him. They should suffer for what they did. Anyway, I am glad for Rordan and Fionna. They are perfect for each other. Fionna's brother and dad are just horrible Fae, and they deserved what had happened to them. I wonder what Erith is preparing for Balladine since he is not in either group of Rippers. It will be nice if he is the leader of his own group. I wonder what happens to Xaneth. He really did changed. I really enjoyed listening to this book. It's amazing 👏.

Another beautiful Reaper Story!!

I LOVE the Reaper's Series!! It's the perfect companion to The Dark/Dragon Kings Series!!
In Dark Alpha's Obsession we meet Rordan and Fianna.

Rordan is sent by Erith/Death to infiltrate a group who are trying to start their own group of The Other's. ( An enemy they defeated in previous books) The leader of the group is Dorcha and his sister Fianna is head of his security team.
The magic starts from the minute they meet. They both start to open up to each other about their families and secrets. It's just a beautiful story from start to finish and we expect nothing less from our Donna!!

I received this ARC from the author for an honest review.

The Reapers are always awesome..

As much as I love all my murder mysteries and thrillers it never stop me from reading Donna Grant's Reaper book or the Dragon Kings, or Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians. Love, love, love those stories.

This one was about Rordan and Fianna, who met while Rordan was undercover looking for the Others. It was an exciting book and I think the Others are going to be a part of these stories for a while.

As always, I love Erith (aka Death) and Cael, her mate.

Yes, explicit sex, which I skip for lack of interest, and the F-bomb is replaced with Fek.

As for the narration: Victoria McGloven is sooo much better than Carly Robbins or Rebecca Estrella, who does Ms. Grant's cowboy books. I've probably read 60 or 70 of Ms. Grant's books, but not the westerns. I would have with a different narrator. You just can't write a book with the "star" being a male and have it narrated by a female. You simply can't.

And the story continues

It is nice to see that the Reapers series is continuing, however this book is really hard for me to rate. First of all I love Donna Grant and her Dark world and I hope that it continues for a long time. With that being said I sometimes feel like the Reapers book are to short. Their love stories are very much all Insta love. There is really no time for any character development. ( with very rare exception) This is Rordan’s chance at love an while I really enjoyed his little warrior and I was thrilled with the outcome I just wanted more from this book. However I did love the chance to see Xaneth and Balladyn again. Another thing that I missed was seeing the Reapers and their mates interact with each other. While I will of course continue reading everything that is Dark World related this book wasn’t all I hope for.
