About this listen

At last, Heaven would find the happiness she longed for...free from the scorn and contempt of her past!

In her grandmother's fine, rich Boston house, Heaven Leigh Casteel dreamed of a wonderful new life of new friends, the best schools, beautiful clothes, and most important, love. The pearls of culture, wisdom, and breeding would now be hers. Soon, she would make the Casteel name respectable, find her brothers and sisters, and have a family again.

But even in the world of the wealthy, there were strange forebodings, secrets best forgotten. And as Heaven reached out for love, she was slowly ensnared in a sinister web of cruel deceits and hidden passions.

Great Story

V.C. Andrews has always been one of my favorite authors. Her books are a must read for everyone who enjoys mystery, romance, suspense all in one book. The "Heaven" series is one of her best.

My favorite series

This is really my favorite series from V.C. Andrews but the narrator is making this very difficult to finish. It took me longer than usual for me to finish the first book because I had to keep stopping.

Dark Angel

I am a fan of V. C. Andrews and it was and still is a great book. I enjoyed the narrator immensely! If you're already a fan it's a great listen!

Awesome kept me reading

Another great read! The lifetime movie had no comparison to the great books. I can’t wait to read the third book.

Horrible narrator. I miss Donada Peters.

This is one of my favorite VC Andrews books but I just can't get past the narrator. Her voices do not match the characters at all. Heaven sounds blase, bored and flippant. Tony sounds like Thurston Howell III on Gilligan's Island. Julian sounds like a version of Lovey. I miss the original narrator, Donada Peters, who read for Recorded Books. The narrator put me off so much I don't think I can finish the series.

Solid Second Installment

A solid second installment in the Castel Series. Narration is consistent and pleasant to listen to.

Great Reader

I have read this series many times, starting when I was a teenager. And like most people you already have pictures of people and voices in your head. So the biggest thing is that you hope you're not disappointed when someone else reads it. And all I can say is I was not disappointed. I mean it was Fanny that did it for me! I was like I was seeing her talk wagging her finger and shake her head back-and-forth when she was chastising Heaven, which is pretty much all the time. Every single voice was different, including the men. I had hoped she would have read the rest of the series, so I was slightly disappointed when it wasn't her because she had done such a great job. You never realize all the work someone has to put in to read a book out loud and make everyone happy... So the 5 stars is there and I would have given more if I could!
