Publisher's summary

Stolen from her home at a young age and tormented for centuries, Elisabeta Trigovise is scared to show herself to anyone. Even though she has been rescued and is now safe within the Carpathian compound, she has lived in fear for so long she has no idea how to survive without it. She wants to answer the siren call of her lifemate - but the very thought terrifies her.

Before he found Elisabeta, Ferro Arany was an ancient warrior without emotion. Now that his senses have come alive, he knows it will take more than kind words and soft touches to convince the fractured woman that they are partners, not master and prisoner. For now, he will give her his strength until she finds hers, allowing the steady rhythm of his heart to soothe Elisabeta's fragile soul.

But even as she learns to stand on her own, the vampire who kept her captive is desperate to claim her again, threatening the song Elisabeta and Ferro are writing together.

Once again absolutely beautiful

No one can tell a story like Christine. These books are truly worth the wait. Even thought I hate the wait.

My favorite narrator

I often read books by this narrator, after getting into the story I realized I am missing out so had to go back and get the two previous books. Love the story line and of course the performance is amazing as always .

Amazing Journey and Storytelling!!!!

This book was FANTASTIC! It was a long wait for Elizabeta’s story, but well worth it! I loved all of the short poems or quotes before each chapter. Ms. Feehan didn’t disappoint! I can’t wait (but will have to) for the next few Dark books. The anticipation is far to great!!

I loved this book!

I love Feehan and the Dark series. I own most of the books but find I only enjoy the audibles that are narrated by Jim Frangione. He is the only one I found that has taken the time to learn pronunciations. Women should really not narrate this series and too many narrators have no idea how to properly pronounce the names.

Another winner

Each new book brings the plot forward. Each story advances the over all struggle for survival the Carpathians people face. Fero is one of my favorites. I can't wait for the next one.it would

An End and a new Direction

Enjoyed this book. Some parts dragged a bit. Not as moving as Jacques and Shay’s story - or Ivory’s,but it held my interest.

Narrator was excellent as always.

30 books for a series is amazing and hard to keep it fresh and interesting. Christine Feehan has been fantastic.

Recommend this to all Dark fans!

This book better than I expected!

I love this series. The backstory is getting to be too much for my heart. I just can't get enough! The Ancients are always intriguing. I am anticipating about what's going to happen to Joseph. He's such a great kid. The little ones as well. I was missing the Dark Troubadours, so glad they made an appearance as well.
