About this listen

Instead of collecting her soul, he captured her heart.

Marigold has a date with Death, but when she foils his plan to take her soul back to hell, she invites him to dinner instead.

Mictain, a former Aztec god who collects souls for Satan, is baffled at his interest in the plump witch who can see him. Intrigued and in lust, he can't help pursuing her.

But things are never simple when gods are involved.

Lucifer, lord of hell, tries to warn him away, and even Marigold's long-lost father decides to butt in. Yet despite the opposition, things heat up between them, and Marigold learns that when Death comes calling, it's best to get naked and invite him into bed - and her heart.

I loved it!
I couldn't stop laughing and listening, like I was reading the book myself!
Mindy Kennedy gave a great performance she was so funny especially the part when; Mictain was laid out on his back, & Marigold was standing over on top of him trying to protect him from her father. Mictain was being a typical guy, she really nailed it, and me laughing so hard I was glad nothing was in my hands because it would have ended up on the floor I was grabbing my gut.
Needless to say I couldn't stop listening and ended up listening to it in one sitting!!!!

Full of Laughs!!!!

It’s short but highly entertaining, funny and hot. I love this series and can’t wait to make it to the next book.

Heck of a quickie

I love Eve’s writing style. The humor, the architecture of each character, the blending of romance, sex and plot constructing the theme of each book. I connect with each character as she creates a visual image in my mind. Great writing and great reading.

Best listening time!

Mictain, a retired Actez god (oooohhh) who works for Lucifer as a soul reaper. Marigold is a witch and mic is waiting on her to brew a deadly concoction - but she spots Mic ( which she apparently shouldn't) . Mic is fascinated by Marigold and she is just as drawn to him.
The banter between Mic and Marigold had me in stitches and I just had to finish (but I also didnt want it to finish either). BUUUUTTT Lucifer doesn't want this match to happen.
And then Marigold's daddy steps in and well..... then the poopie hit the fan. I need to read more of this series.

Death is so hot and funny

Love that she used an Aztec God as her H. I enjoy when authors pull in other less-used cultures.

The H was extremely sweet, and this was a head-over-heels-at-first-sight book. The h was also well developed, and they blended seamlessly together. Also, enjoyed the part where she calls him to her. How else do you get death to pay you a visit when you lack his phone number?

And then there’s Lucifer... he has to be one of the main reasons I love this book. He’s hard to describe, but I’ve fallen in love with his witty yet annoying and meddlesome character. Who thought the devil could be a matchmaker?

I like the setting and the fun quips but this story is 90% sex and the little bit of story was lacking the normal building of the world.

To many holes that need to be filled in (no pun intended) and the lead female was almost unlikeable and the male was a bit of a weak male for who he was supposed to be.

Mostly short story sex

Loved this continuation of Eve Langlais’ Lucifer series! However it was a little tooth grinding to hear our male leads name get butchered throughout the ENTIRE narration. “Miktain” or “mictain” or even “mctain” (mic-tayn) are pronunciations based on European lexicon. Not to mention that the author (Langlais) mentions the multisyllabic pronunciation during an inner thought by Marigold. So for all those wondering it SHOULD be pronounced Mik-Tah-Een. Let’s honor the Aztec origins and not whitewash it with mispronounced titles it’s not like she chose Quetzalcoatl which is a mouthful yet still ppl say that with ease nowadays. EFFORT COUNTS! Miss Kennedy did her best but I do wish she researched the role beforehand...Otherwise another wonderful work by Langlais!!

Loved it but Semantics...
