Critic reviews

"There is zombie fiction and then there is crawl-out-of-the-grave-and-drag-you-to-hell zombie fiction. Day by Day Armageddon is hands down the best zombie book I have ever read. Dawn of the Dead meets 28 Days Later doesn't even come close to describing how fantastic this thriller is. It is so real, so terrifying, and so well written that I slept with not one, but two loaded Glocks under my pillow for weeks afterwards. J. L. Bourne is the new king of hardcore zombie action!" (Brad Thor, New York Times #1 best-selling author)

Best Written Zombie Fiction Ever

DbDA is an outstanding read for anyone who enjoys zombie or end of the world scenarios. I perfer this over WWZ just bc of the feeling of despair you get and the amount of detail the main character puts into his journal. Its written as a journal and the narrator does a great job of reading it. Wow just Wow plus the squeal hits later this year.

J L Bourne serves up a d*** good zombie story!

Bourne’s series is very good! His ideas for the story…both good and original. Zombie fan?...these books will not disappoint! Recommended.

Hated to see it end

One of the first books I can remember where I just did not want it to end. Great narrator, great story and unique method of story telling.

This was my first zombie book and I loved it. I'm inspired to try a few more. I just hope they can come close to this one in pure entertainment value.

Only criticism is the ending was pretty abrupt and just left me wanting more. Maybe there will be a Part II? I sure hope so. If I have to I'll write it myself....and that would not be good.

Way too short, but delightfully sweet!

First off, let me say that I hate zombie flicks and zombie stories in general! Uggh, the clumsiness and the agonizing moaning and groaning of the un-dead, puh-leeease! The way they walk around and bump into each other and just can't seem to permanently die unless you obliterate their already dead brains, I mean seriously! I just wanna smack the first person that ever came up with this stuff.

Well, after writing that I gotta say that I still feel that way, but boy, DBDA sure makes me forget about all of that when you are listeining to it! I mean, the storyline is just captivating. You're sucked in by the journal entry style of the narration, even though at first I really didn't like it. I thought that the story would be too biased, too one-sided. However, the author does a great job of painting the perfect picture, allowing you to see all aspects of the story quite clearly, and in a very pragmatic, non-partisan way.

It's way too short for all of the things that transpire through the story, and leaves your mind in a lather about all of the events that could happen in the future, heck even in the present.

For a certified non-zomb as myself, I gotta say that the author does a spectacular job with his depiction of a world gone mad. There are parts of the book that are down right gut-wrenching, while others are laugh out loud funny. I loved the balance that the book brought to the table, and in a very random way, nothing was at all predictable.

The narrator was very good, but I couldn't give him 5 stars in earnest because he doesn't really do more than a handful of characters through the whole story, due to the journal entry style of the book.

Overall, an excellent listen and I'm loading up my Archos to listen to Book 2 first thing tomorrow morning!

Well done

I enjoy reading survival stories but they are getting hard to come by without the typical zombie junk. I took a chance on this one and I'm glad I did. Though this tale includes plenty of zombies it is well written and is not overly gory. The narration was well done and the story is told in a diary or journal entry type of format. I was engaged right down to the end so I would recommend this one.

Page turner( or the audible equivalent)

A lot ghoulish if you like that type of zombie thing. I did and listened in record time, couldnt turn it off. Be aware its only the first book and the second follows directly on.

A well thought out zombie book

You can tell this was written by someone in the military. I kept getting the feeling that this guy had the inside scoop on weapons, intelligence, military movements, etc.
Excellent intelligent zombie thriller-not sure if those words are supposed to go together.....
It was an enjoyable read

Stumbled upon this book...

and it was great! I was skeptical at first when I heard the narrarator. I gave it a chance and ended up wanting more. The end really made me mad though. It left me hanging. So I bought the second book. Equally as good. Zombies, firearms, and a lot of surviving. Did I mention zombies? Lots of Zombies!!!!!!

Kinda disappointed

Honestly I might be a little biased, zombie apocalypse books aren’t really my thing. I expected the book to be as good as the other reviews I read. But it just wasn’t
