About this listen

Praised for having “the perfect blend of action, romance, suspense, and paranormal”*, #1 New York Times bestselling author Patrica Briggs's Alpha and Omega series now takes listeners into the middle of some bad supernatural business…

For once, mated werewolves Charles Cornick and Anna Lantham are not traveling because of Charles’s role as his father’s enforcer. This time, their trip to Arizona is purely personal. Or at least their visit starts out that way...

Charles and Anna soon discover that a dangerous fae being is on the loose, replacing human children with simulacrums. The fae have started a cold war with humanity that's about to heat up—and Charles and Anna are in the crossfire.

“Briggs offers the complete package, a book with interesting world building, lovely characters, and stakes that could not be higher. Dead Heat is a great addition to the series.”—All Things Urban Fantasy

A really good story! Loved how we were able to see more dimensions and character growth of both Charles and Anna.

I love the writing and imagination that goes into these stories. Is realistic fantasy a thing? I get so immersed into the world of these character that when I’m done it takes me a time to figure out why shifters and Fae and other magical creatures are not in my world!

Great story!

This series of books is outstanding. The characters are almost real. The narration was excellent as well.

Wonderful

Good re-recording. Only quibble is that the ‘voices’ of Max, Mackie, and Micheal aren’t as distinct as Mr. Graham’s first effort.

One of my Mercyverse favorites

Characters I care about, twists and turns in a paranormal mystery, with a sprinkling of romance. The sex is not graphic because the story is not about sex, the characters just happen to have sex. I like that. You'll get more out of the story after reading prior volumes, but you don't have to.

Mystery & romance

I forget the narrators name, but he made Charles sound like a 50+ year old chain smoker as well as the rest of the male werewolves. However he made Anna sound way to high pitched to the point where it was annoying. The previous guy was much better at making Charles sound like an actual person who would've lived 200 years ago as a native American. The narration made this a slog to listen through and I've listened to over 100 books at this point.

Not a good narrator.

It has re-recorded and the story and voices have changed. Go back to the original audiobook!

This re-released version of Dead Heat is terrible.
