What made the experience of listening to Dead Over Heels the most enjoyable?

I just enjoy the characters that this author creates. They are like some of my friends and I can identify with most of them. Having grown up in a small town I understand the dynamics that are going on.

What did you like best about this story?

The things that Aurora says are so real life, and she has a quirky sense of humor

Which character ??? as performed by Therese Plummer ??? was your favorite?

I really like how she reads Sooki.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

I laughed, I cried

The story is good; the author is always consistent from book to book. I have an issue with the choice of narrator. While her narration is good and not terribly annoying, her accent of the main character is Midwest and not southern in the least. Southern accents are hard to get right, so I understand choosing good narration over a bad accent. However, somewhere between this book and the previous book, the narrator started t-glotting the name Martin. T-glotting like a youtuber is not a Southern convention. It is annoying. I should probably turn it into a drinking game to make it more tolerable.

Good little mystery; odd choice in narration

I didn’t see the solution to this mystery until Roe did. I liked the book and that it furthered the character development, but I liked the development of the supporting characters better than the main ones. I liked the book well enough to move on to the next volume in the series to see if I still like the overall story given the main characters’ development in this book.

Caught me by surprise on several levels

Charlaine Harris hits it out of the park with this suspenseful thriller. We knew she could write about vampires and werewolves, here she shows that she can write about real life as well. Aurora Teagarden is a great character in this excellent series. listen soon.

It's not supernatural, it's just super...

I read a lot of historical churchy fiction (Shardlake) and the churchiness isn’t annoying. Maybe it was churchiness together with barren lady envy of pregnant friend that was annoying. And really clean “I go to church but I’m really sexy”-ness. I don’t know. It’s a good church lady mystery...

Lil bit churchy...
