"Dancers in the Dark" is set in the Sookieverse and features Sean and Layla. Even so, when she somehow acquires a stalker, Layla Rue is surprised to find that Sean is the only one she can trust. Originally published in Night's Edge (HQN Books, October 2004).

"The Britlingens Go to Hell" is also set in the Sookieverse and features the vampires Dahlia and Taffy. Bodyguards Batanya and Clovache, previously introduced in All Together Dead, battle demons, wolfwomen, and two hellhounds guarding some unusual prisoners. Wonderful &Satisfying

fun break from full novels & series. Lovable characters you can relate to quickly & easily whether you have read the Sookie books or not.

It was fun

As a die hard Sookie fan, it was nice to delve back into that world, even if only for a couple of hours. I was always curious about the Britlingens so it was interesting to me.

Weird second story

I liked the first story, but it threw me off to have a second story in there that just didn’t seem to go with the first.

Just didn't care much about the characters

Narrator has a nice voice but didn't pull me in.
Maybe it is the short story format but I simply didn't care about most of the characters. Exception would be the Brit- female bodyguards but not quite enough in the tale to really get me wanting more.

5 stars for the first story, 1 star for the second

Dancers in the Dark was a great story set in the Sookieverse. I really enjoyed the characters and although I feel that there were some mispronunciations in the book I enjoyed the narration too. The 2nd story about some side security guard characters (who were involved in the Hotel explosion) was terrible...I was bored with the story and the characters, it's only 2-3 hours, but I would have rather paid for a 3 hour book without that story than a 5 hour with....

Shorts from Sookieville.

4 stars. Dancers in the Dark is Sean and Layla's story. A sweet romance about the dancers we met in Sookie's story. I thought this book was longer, not realizing there were two books in the audio. I would have been happier if it was longer, but overall a good addition to Sookieville. Of course this book is based before all of Sookie's books. Narrator does a good job. 3 hrs 27 mins.

1 star. Brittlingens go to hell. This story was confusing and I only listened to about 30 minutes before I gave up on it. It has been awhile since I read all of Sookie's books. So with that in mind I had no idea who these two characters were and where they were coming from. Supposedly they are from All Together dead and this story is in another dimension. 2 hrs 28 mins.

Nice story

Nice story. It was a nice change of pace from the Sookie stories but still show familiar. I enjoyed it.

Shorter than expected.

I enjoyed the story. However, no where in the description did it say that there are actually two stories in this book. I was disappointed where the story ended, It didn't leave me satisfied and wanting more, it was more like is that all? That's it? It was a bit confusing because the story suddenly ends and a new one begins with no explanation.

The 1st story was great!

The second story I fell asleep during and never went back to. I kind of like typical Charlene Harris.
