About this listen

So terrifying it'll leave listeners breathless...

When a Minnesota teen is kidnapped, Doc Ford is given an unthinkable ultimatum, and only 36 hours to act on it. But there's something unusual about the boy that his captors don't even know, twisting this deadly game out of control in ways no one can imagine.

I was very pleased with the book. I laughed in parts as I listened to it. I thought it was well written and the book moved along nicely. I think the way all the various characters were brought together at the end in a great way. I was surpised at some of the connections.

Doc was Doc in the book.. with his glasses held with fishing line . Enjoy the book for what it is.
Good old fashion fun and a place to escape!

A bit different then others in the series

Murder, kidnapping, extortion, arrests, and travel are just part of everyday life when Doc Ford is involved.

Doc Ford does it again.

I love Doc Ford and his crazy sidekick. The characters and story are always entertaining. I never worry about spending credits on a book by Randy Wayne White: I know that I will love it.

Always fun

I did not read all the early books but picked these because George reads them. I was very pleased with this one and liked that we are seeing some of Doc's skills from his first life.
I prefer a spy novel to a detective novel and this was in the middle more than the other ones.
I have three in the series now and will listen to almost anything George reads except American Gods.

My favorite Doc book. More modern spy than b4

Randy Wayne White likes to explore subjects. He has Doc work through a subject and explain it in detail. I love it when it has to do with biology. Sometimes he goes down a rabbit hole and gets it wrong. Steroid rage is a popular myth. It’s not documented. It’s pop-psychology. In fact studies have shown there is no marked aggression from taking PEDs. I’m not advocating it’s use. There is plenty of harm caused by using them.

Randy gets it wrong

Randy Wayne White is a great teacher as well as a spellbinding storyteller. The hero here is a 14-year-old indigenous native American named Will. I hope to see him again, in other doc Ford novels. With That description I am shambling Through the perilous waters of political correctness. DOC Ford is a hero here too but I would Rank him second to Will is this tale. thank you, Mr. White.

Terrific — don’t miss it.

Another great book from Randy White. I got the book mainly because of the narrator. I had listen to him on another White book and loved him as much as the book. The characters were different, but fit exactly the part that White and me want them to. Try this book and you will not be disappointed.

Loved the Narrator as much as the book

Intellectually challenging, informative, intriguing, induces future speculation for follow on books, makes me want to buy other books by this author and with this superlative narrator.

Spell-binding

Just didn’t work for me. Hopefully his next book will not be so predictable. Hooked early on, look forward to the next one.
