Stone Cold Iron Maiden

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

It's an interesting read / easy listen for a rainy day. Thought it had a lot of fillers. Short story (spoiler) she killed her husband so she could keep her furniture and dog versus a divorce. Sad someone had to die because of such shallow selfishness.

Would you listen to another book narrated by James Conlan?

Yes he was easy to listen to.

Guilty as Sin

What made the experience of listening to Deadly Lessons the most enjoyable?

I felt it was very well written.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

She was able to manipulate Billy Flynn into killing her husband; I totally believe that. And I find it hilarious that she was "trying to help the police" find the killer. Yes, Billy and his cohorts deserved to go the prison for what they did but she did too. And her trying to say she was innocent is just pure malarkey.

What does James Conlan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He's a good narrator but it would have been the same if I had read of the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Sure, if I had the time. But I listened to it commuting to work.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book if one is a true crime fan like I am.

MEOCRE BOOK.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

IT WAS OK. I PROBABLY WON'T READ IT AGAIN.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

IT WAS FACTUAL. I SAW THE TRIAL ON THE NOW DEFUNCT COURT TV. BUT IT WAS HOLLOW.

Which scene was your favorite?

IT WAS NOT A BOOK THAT HAD ANY SCENES THAT WERE INTERESTING OR SPECIAL.

Did Deadly Lessons inspire you to do anything?

NO

Any additional comments?

I DON'T FEEL I KNOW ANY OF THE PEOPLE IN THIS STORY. IT IS TOO BAD IT WAS AN INTERESTING TRIAL AND I WOULD HAVE LIKE TO KNOW HOW THESE PEOPLE EALLY INTERACTED.

Love the story, wanted more

Ok, so I love this case. It has everything. I just wish the book could have been a little bit longer so that they could have talked in more detail about her relationship with her husband, her relationship with the student and how it all evolved to murder. Plus I would have liked to hear more about the background of everyone involved.

Behead the narrator, please!

Would you try another book from Ken Englade and/or James Conlan?

Might be well-written but my urge was to slap the narrator the duration I suffered through this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Ken Englade again?

Not if Conlan is the narrator.
