Deadly Stillwater: Mac's at it again!!

What did you love best about Deadly Stillwater?

The plot of course! It was so imaginative, and had you constantly guessing. Oh, you knew who The "bad guys" were, it was just what was going to happen next!!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oh come on, Mac of course!

Which scene was your favorite?

When they (I can't say it spoilers****)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Spoilers, let's just say the way the author writes and has Mac and Dick interact is priceless.

Any additional comments?

FUN READ! (While still a serious detective story.)

Great story! Being from St Paul, it was fun to follow, the characters are believable and the storyline was easy to imagine.

New author for me. LOVED IT!!

OH MY GOSH!!! And let me tell you all it blew me outta the water. They say that revenge is a dish best served cold. The twists and turns of this tale kept me rocking on the edge of my seat 'til I thought I would lose my ever loving mind. First one of these I have read... I need to go back and find the rest.

Campy, amateur mystery.

Everything from the writing to the narrator is like a campy boyscout mystery. Maybe Ive listened to too many indepth, deep, edge of your seat mysteries that now a normal writer is childish to me. Who knows. It was like the author had a clever idea but wasnt clever enough to pull it off. Just the sort of skimming through things other writers would never do like how he never really explained the main characters ideas of logic in reaching conclusions well just summing it up as basically he thought about some things annnnnnnd found the right thing.
Overall, if youre looking for a campy, not edge of your seat mystery where everything is spelled out for you as if its Sesame Street then go for it.

It's not Mitch Rapp calibre

but it's ok. I found it a tad predictable. Maybe later books in the series improved.

Story is very good

The story is really good but the narrator not so much. He is fine sometimes but when he voices a female character or some characters, I just can’t! I really struggled to finish.

Payback's a ...

Another great story by Roger Stelljes and narration by Johnny Peppers. The voice for one of the characters was surprising, unnerving and quite effective. This story kept my heart pounding and I could hardly stop listening.

Good premise, but language is offensive to many.

Love the premise, the hero, the relationships and the intricacy of plot line.
Unfortunately, the barrage of foul, and uneducated language sometimes forces people of sensitivity to become frustrated and repulsed. While not a fanatical goody-two shoes, this reader finds gratuitous profanity inappropriate. The English language is adequate to express any type of emotion, even a base one.
