Very good

The narrator was superb and really brought the story to life throughout the series. I really enjoyed the series, maybe hoping for a more realistic conclusion, but it was alright.

A lot of build up to a rushed ending.

Want to start off by saying I loved this whole series it was a great listen that really kept me on the edge of my seat from back to back action and not a whole lot of slow spots, the performance was outstanding. I really wish there was another book or this one would have been longer the end of this book seemed very rushed and bam it was over without tying up a bunch of loose ends. I wish we could have heard more about Ash and Jenna. it seemed like the closure of all the different characters was jammed into the last chapter. Overall a great story would recommend and would listen again.

Amazing writing!

was such a good read. I gobbled it up. my only complaint was that Briaan became so background character I wanted more from his point of view, only got glimpses in this book, and his growing feelings towards ""***"" ya know. I just have a few questions that I don't feel were resolved but loved the ending chapters . 8/10***

Out of steam

After 3.75 volumes of moment by moment details and chapters that tell multiple concurrent events of the primary characters, the ending is a disappointment. The last chapters conclude all the characters briefly whereas there were multiple chapters dedicated up to this point. For discharge a “story-caster” it’s like ms chima suddenly realized the story had to end because there wasn’t another book. The other odd touch - “count how many times “all but...” is used. Very uncharacteristic. A joke perhaps?

Great Series, a bit rushed after so much build up.

I love and enjoy the whole story. From first meeting Han and Dancer at the mud pots all the way until the end of Deathcaster. Dont get me wrong from the review below, the whole series is great.

The problem I have is with three books of build up, the conclusions felt all smashed together and hurried. The two main plots were "whats with the mage marks" and "who killed Han".... The mage mark story wasnt built up the way I wanted for how in depth the ending was and the who killed Han was such a big deal, to me at least, and the answer was all squashed into the last half of book four.

I would have liked more information regarding Celistine, her siblings and what all the marks meant earlier. Too much was left unexplained there. The conspiracy regarding the attacks on the royal family felt like it didnt really mean much after all. As if Hans death was irrelevant which I didnt feel good about. I would have liked a little more results and in depth conversations about why things happened and how.

Lastly though, I wish there were more dragons in the earlier books. We met Cas in book one. It would have been nice to get more details about dragon bonding and riding earlier..... All in all, too rushed but still a great story.

Overall though I still loved the shattered realms novels and would listen to them all again. Thus why 5 stars across the board.

Good way wrap up a great series

There were a good amount of moving parts. Kept me wondering would happen next. Felt like the ending was a little rushed but maybe that’s because I didn’t want it to end

Lost potential

I loved the seven realms series, so i was excited to dive into the shattered realms series. My main concern with this series is that it was split between too many points of view, and this becomes a great hinderance in this book as it was focused too much on the war in the wetlands and therefore the nazari arc seem overly rushed and shorten. Plus i get that each of the magemarked were given a name based on the book title. But who was the deathcaster? Celestine? /
So overall the book was a 3/5 for me.

An excellent young adult series with a firm punctuation.

Superb ending to a fantastic fantasy series. I sincerely hope we receive many more in tales from the Seven Realms. I’ve not been so attached to characters in a series since I first read Harry Potter. The depth of the character development by both C.W. Chima and K.M. Guest with this series are incredible. This is an excellent series for any young adult or fantasy buff alike. Strong recommendation from me.
