About this listen

In this indispensable conclusion to the New York Times best-selling Shattered Realms series, master storyteller Cinda Williams Chima delivers spellbinding action, bittersweet reunions, and dazzling revelations.

Warrior Alyssa ana’Raisa would do anything to protect her home, the Fells, and her legacy, the Gray Wolf line. But as a prisoner of Empress Celestine, Lyss is forced to turn her fearsome talents as an army commander against her beloved homeland. Refusal would swiftly lead to her death, and her death would end the Gray Wolf line.

In Lyss’ absence, Fellsmarch Castle swarms with intrigue, deception, and a primordial threat. Destin Karn, a Southern spymaster with a hidden agenda of his own, might be the queendom’s only hope of defeating the forces aligned against the Seven Realms...as well as the enemies within the castle.

Very good

The narrator was superb and really brought the story to life throughout the series. I really enjoyed the series, maybe hoping for a more realistic conclusion, but it was alright.

A lot of build up to a rushed ending.

Want to start off by saying I loved this whole series it was a great listen that really kept me on the edge of my seat from back to back action and not a whole lot of slow spots, the performance was outstanding. I really wish there was another book or this one would have been longer the end of this book seemed very rushed and bam it was over without tying up a bunch of loose ends. I wish we could have heard more about Ash and Jenna. it seemed like the closure of all the different characters was jammed into the last chapter. Overall a great story would recommend and would listen again.

Amazing writing!

was such a good read. I gobbled it up. my only complaint was that Briaan became so background character I wanted more from his point of view, only got glimpses in this book, and his growing feelings towards ""***"" ya know. I just have a few questions that I don't feel were resolved but loved the ending chapters . 8/10***

Lost potential

I loved the seven realms series, so i was excited to dive into the shattered realms series. My main concern with this series is that it was split between too many points of view, and this becomes a great hinderance in this book as it was focused too much on the war in the wetlands and therefore the nazari arc seem overly rushed and shorten. Plus i get that each of the magemarked were given a name based on the book title. But who was the deathcaster? Celestine? /
So overall the book was a 3/5 for me.

An excellent young adult series with a firm punctuation.

Superb ending to a fantastic fantasy series. I sincerely hope we receive many more in tales from the Seven Realms. I’ve not been so attached to characters in a series since I first read Harry Potter. The depth of the character development by both C.W. Chima and K.M. Guest with this series are incredible. This is an excellent series for any young adult or fantasy buff alike. Strong recommendation from me.

another ride with one of the best fiction authors

I have read, and/or listen to every single one of cinda Williams Chima has made and every single one is a masterwork and manages to be inclusive while taking everyone on an unforgettable journey. this marks a resolution to the second saga of the gray wolf throne and she did her first series justice and left it in a state If you could hope to leave a series of their own creation hats off to the author it was an amazing experience.

Great wrap up

My only beef was how much the characters chased each other around the world and kept JUST missing each other. Otherwise an amazing wrap up to the story. I hope she comes back to this world to fully explain the Northen Islands and all the different kinds of wizards.

Out of steam

After 3.75 volumes of moment by moment details and chapters that tell multiple concurrent events of the primary characters, the ending is a disappointment. The last chapters conclude all the characters briefly whereas there were multiple chapters dedicated up to this point. For discharge a “story-caster” it’s like ms chima suddenly realized the story had to end because there wasn’t another book. The other odd touch - “count how many times “all but...” is used. Very uncharacteristic. A joke perhaps?
