About this listen

Rebelling against her legacy as the MC's princess, Tru Tennyson escaped the ruthless, male-dominated culture of the Defiance motorcycle club. Three years later, her newfound freedom is ripped away, thanks to a massive hybrid storm that killed millions. Now, in the post-Chaos world of semi-darkness and near-total anarchy where gangs rule, she discovers the dangerous world of Defiance may be the one thing that can keep her safe.

Tru is at the MC's mercy when she's dragged back to her former home... and to the only man she's ever pictured a future with. Caspar is the bastard son of the club's leader, her safe haven when life got rough - and her onetime lover the night she left. When Tru refuses to trade sex for power and be claimed by a rival club leader, she also dares to announce she wants Caspar instead, throwing the MC into turmoil.

Tru's brazen revolt could start a gang war and destroy the club from within. Now both Tru and the MC must wait for Caspar's response... and the inevitable fallout.

Sadly found this book lacking

Any additional comments?

The Chaos, as it is known present day, was a series of cataclysmic environmental events that cast the earth into darkness. Survivors of the storms are slowly rebuilding and learning to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. The MC’s went underground, literally, and have emerged as their own government practicing dangerous politics in the name of keeping the MC strong and thriving. But there is no harmony between rival gangs and no one is to be trusted. Internally, the Defiance MC is seeing some turbulence as well. The older governing members rule with archaic laws and some of the younger up-and-comers think it’s time for change. When Tru, the prodigal daughter of the former MC enforcer is returned to the MC disgraced and beaten for rejecting a rival club leader, she doesn't receive a warm welcome from her MC. She is not trusted because she dishonored the MC when she ran from her abusive father and eventually took up with a rival gang for protection.

The narrator was great but i could not get emotionally involved with this story. My mind kept wandering of and that is not a good sign. Think this one is a return :(

Great Biker Read!

Would you consider the audio edition of Defiance to be better than the print version?

No because I did have a bit of a problem with Bishop's and Matthais accent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Casper! He was a great character. Very well developed and had depth.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Yes with some of the male voices. They sounded a lot alike.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Silas picked Casper over his family

Great Biker Club Post World book! Loved it!

This was actually really really good. The whole post-chaos world thing was actually really good. The plot line really drove the story along... I enjoyed it. I loved Casper and Tru's relationship. Casper was one hot biker... I so want to be a mc princess now! Casper's character really pull this book along, not that it was bad, not bad at all, but Casper was just so great.... Everything circled around him. I loved how he eventually took over. That was great. Nice HEA!

MC Meets Apocalypse

This was such an interesting concept and damn do I wish we had seen what the rest of the outside world was like, besides just hearing tidbits here and there. Also, really wish that some characters had died very painfully, other then that, pretty interesting world being built here. Don’t like how the MC became more primitive, with wacky rules, especially pertaining to the women, but when civilization falls apart, that’s what happens. Really great read for a first book, but if you can’t handle loads of talk about ***WARNING*** abuse, rape, severe violence towards women, misogyny in full blown force, don’t read. But know that it does get better and the trash gets taken out. So I suggest giving it a twirl.

AWFUL!!

Any additional comments?

Awful...just awful....not sure how any female can enjoy a theme where women live in a world where they are treated like slaves...abused, raped, passed around. One of the worst books I have ever read. Complete waste of my money....couldn't get through it.

Horrible narrator, ok story

Bust. It had potential, but didn't make it. I gave up listening ( awful narrator) and tried to read, but with all the slang, abbreviations and lack of full sentences...it was difficult to follow. Don't waste your time.

Sons of Anarchy rip-off

So I was really hoping I would enjoy listening to this book more than I actually did. I thought the concept of this story was really interesting and different - a Post-Apocalyptic MC club. Cool! Unfortunately, it just fell flat. There wasn't enough backstory to make me care about the characters and the multiple point-of-views were confusing and very distracting. The story wasn't all that original either. There were so many blatant rip-offs from Sons of Anarchy that I could actually see the scenes from the TV show while I listened.
If you are looking for a good MC series I would suggest a Kristen Ashley or Madeline Sheehan book.
