Publisher's summary

She's on the run...into the arms of forbidden love.

Heather Luth knows nothing about the paranormal world until one awful night changes everything. Now she's on the run - straight into the arms of forbidden love. Her mind knows better than to fall for a werewolf's sunny smile and mesmerizing voice, but her heart - and destiny - have other ideas.

On the surface, Cody Hawthorne is warm, witty, and fun, but beneath his carefree facade, Heather sees a real man struggling to break free. Day by day, Heather and Cody grow closer and closer, unable to resist their simmering passion - while day by day, a serial murderer closes in on his prey. Duty fights desire; fear wrestles trust as the human world clashes with the paranormal in a tale of forbidden love.

There's more than meets the eye on Twin Moon Ranch, home to a pack of shapeshifting wolves willing to battle for life and love.

A paranormal romance with adult content. The perfect listen for fans of strong heroines, alpha heroes, werewolves and shapeshifters, bad-boy bikers, red-hot cowboys, romantic westerns, paranormal suspense, action-adventure romance, and fantasy romance!

One Great Listen!

I just loved this story, the only thing that I would have changed/added would have been the narrator and have had both a male and a female reading it would have been alittle more expressive. But i love Anna Lowes books anyways and being able to listen to the story unfold while working is a nice touch!

I really enjoyed this sequel!

I really enjoyed this sequel and the two main characters in this story. I loved Cody from the first book and Heather was easy to like as well. I loved Cody’s easy-going personality compared to Ty’s. I also understood why he choose to be the comedian. I disliked how negatively Ty and his father judged him. As for Heather, I absolutely loved her spirit and willingness to fight for herself. No wilting flower here. Her innate understanding of Cody was wonderful. I like how fiercely she was willing to defend him when needed.

The kids were great for the humorous aspect of the story. It was easy to fall in love with them especially the class clown, Timmy. He’s a little charmer. I was glad that Heather took a special interest in him.

Ms. Lowe did an excellent job of weaving the love story with humor, mystery and suspense. I appreciated that the characters in this story didn’t have quite as much internal dialogue as the first story. That helped the story actually flow better. I can’t wait to read the next one.

I really enjoy Anna Lowe's books, I like her take on shifters, and each book is short and sweet, and packs a punch. I enjoy that each book is about a different couple, but there are still glimpses of the previous characters. In Desert Blood, Heather has experienced something insane, and she is being stalked by a creature that shouldn't exist, so she leaves her home and takes a job as a teacher at the Twin Moon Ranch. Cody is a werewolf, who is part of the Twin Moon Ranch pack, he's always been a sort of ladies man, but lately he is getting tired of not feeling a connection, and of putting on a show as the fun-loving, carefree guy, who isn't responsible enough to take on important roles in the pack, so he has decided to step-up in hopes of being taken more seriously, but it's difficult to change the way people think of you. When strange murders are happening near the ranch, Cody sees a chance to prove his worth to his father and the pack, but when Cody and his wolf start feeling a draw towards Heather, a human, a wrench is thrown into his plans. Cody's father would not approve of Cody mating with a human, so Cody tries to resist his pull towards Heather, and Heather is only suppose to be at the ranch for a short time, so she tries to resist her attraction towards Cody, but the heart wants what the heart wants. I like that in Anna Lowe's books there are some action scenes; they are intense! Both characters are great, and I was only ticked at Cody at one point in this book, and I was sort of hoping that he would have to answer for that a little bit more. Heather is strong, and I loved the scenes with her field hockey stick; badass! The intimate scenes were great too, we get a dirty dancing type scene, that was hot! And there is also, a yoga type scene that was interesting to picture, lol! I like that there is POV's from both Cody and Heather, and they are super sweet together. Definitely reading the next book in this series, and looking forward to more from Anna Lowe!

Sweet Teacher and an Alpha

Desert Moon was swoon worthy as Lana and Ty meet and do a dance of denial. Ty is holding out for a memory and Lana doesn't want to be that woman who gives her heart away to find out she's not loved in return. The angst of being caught up in the story while Lana was trying to get Ty to realize she was there to support and love him. And to watch Ty struggle with taking over as the Alpha while making sure that he could also have love. All of that then add danger from outside of the ranch. My emotions were ramped up as Lana was faced with her final issues and facing the outside dangers.

The author chose the same narrator for all of the Desert Moon books I've listened to so far. It was easy to listen to and very pleasurable with Kelsey Osborne as the narrator. She breaths the storytelling into the magic of the words. Desert Moon is the first in the series.

2nd son tries to emerge from brother's shadow

I am voluntarily submitting my honest review after receiving an ARC of the audiobook generously provided by the author.

In this enchanting sequel to Desert Moon, we return to Twin Moon Ranch as Cody comes into his own. Most of his life, considered a playboy and jokster, Cody has lived in the shadow of his brother, Alpha wolf shifter Ty. But Cody now feels ready to step up and claim a more important role in the pack and find a mate of his own. Investigating a series of murders a little too close to the Ranch is the chance he needs to prove his worth. And when Heather Luth arrives and accepts a temporary teaching job, Cody knows almost right away that she is his mate. The only problem--she's human, and she clearly is hiding secrets of her own--secrets that keep her from trusting men. As this enchanting novel unfolds and Ty and Heather rediscover themselves and each other, the author's descriptions bring the desert alive. This book is by turns uplifting and inspiring as we see Ty and Heather become the people they are meant to be, then heartbreaking and maddening when we see outside forces conspire against them. The story and well-drawn characters draw you in and you just can't help but cheer them on! I think my experience of this novel was enhanced by having previously read Desert Moon, I think you could probably still like this book just as much as a standalone novel. I listened to the audiobook version of Desert Blood, and I highly recommend experiencing the book this way. The narrator's sense of timing and pace is spot on--especially during the steamy scenes which she somehow makes even hotter! Her smooth, lyrical voice, combined with Anna Lowe's descriptive prose truly makes the desert come to life if you close your eyes while listening to certain passages of the book. This is a great series that fans of shifter fiction are sure to enjoy!

BOOK REVIEW.....
This book is great. I love the characters of Heather and Cody. Cody is hot, fun, sweet and loyal to those he loves. Heather strong sweet and lovable. Heather starts out clueless about werewolves but falls for Cody hard. Their romance is Hot and steamy. Add to that the danger from the serial killer into the mix and you have HOT intriguing shifter romance MUST READ book.
