About this listen

Outbreak - Day 1: Presidents, premiers, entire governments disappeared instantly, like a fragile house of cards in a hurricane. Some hid deep underground or holed up in fortified strongholds, but most were swallowed up by the dead, never to be heard from again.

Cade Grayson - husband, father, patriot - discovered two undead enemy soldiers on American soil, and soon the official call to duty came directly from the President herself in a transmission beamed by military satellite to Cade's refuge in rural Utah: It was time to take up arms in defense of his country once again. Valerie Clay’s hard-to-fathom video footage, showing thousands of enemy soldiers establishing beachheads all along the West Coast, made it impossible to resist. He was a former US Army Delta Operator and he had to come to the aid of his dying country. If he and his team failed, it would leave America more vulnerable than ever - not only to the zombie scourge roaming the countryside, but to her enemies both foreign and domestic.

While Cade is away, the Eden survivors learn a devastating secret: The dead have recovered from the effects of an early season snowstorm. They are everywhere. Worse, someone capable of unspeakable violence has been systematically stripping nearby towns of everything worth taking.

Will Cade and his team survive their mission to halt the enemy’s push inland?

Will the Eden survivors find the supplies they need for the upcoming long and brutal winter? And will they survive (are they prepared to survive) an encounter with those responsible for the grisly crimes against humanity?

Discover who has what it takes to survive the zombie apocalypse...and who doesn’t.

Even when a person knows it’s coming, it’s still hard! No words, just tears. Great writing Shawn and very good job Adam.

At every turn Cade is faced with another difficult decision. He must answer the call to duty for his country once again, that is who he is, he keeps his promises. In doing so he must leave his band of friends and family to hopefully take care of their selves in his absence. This decision, this promise, he may regret....

loved it, a bit over the top sometimes, once it got past the bragging and 'burr in the saddle' bit, it got on with the story, favorite part was when Adrian and crew were properly sorted.

survival, war and love all come together in yet another book by Shawn Chesser. Nail biting and heartbreaking all at the same time.

yet another awsome book.

I love this story. I laugh, I cry, I stress, I smile. I feel like I have gotten to know these characters as I have read all of the books in the series. This is a remarkable storyline that leaves nothing out and Shawn Chesser writes great details drawing a wonderful scene without overdoing it. Adam Paul does a great performance as well to bring it all together. If I could give this 10 stars, I would.

Fantastic! I can’t wait for the next book.

I really had a hard time following along with this one. Somehow I missed the story goal or mission. Perhaps I should have read this one instead of listening to it because the narrator just couldn't keep me focused. The voices weren't distinct enough and at times it was Monotonic.

Perhaps A Better Read
