Publisher's summary

Old friendships. Dark secrets. Deadly lies.

When Detective Inspector Bridget Hart returns to her old Oxford college for a reunion dinner, she's hoping for a fun weekend catching up with old friends. But the reunion takes a macabre turn when body parts are served up at the college feast, and one of her friends is found murdered.

With Bridget's arch rival Inspector Baxter leading the murder inquiry, and herself a potential suspect, Bridget is forbidden from taking part in the investigation. But that doesn't stop her from carrying out her own private inquiries.

Bridget soon realizes that the murderer is someone known to her. And as the weekend continues and more bodies are found, it becomes clear that they will stop at nothing to get what they want. Can Bridget uncover the dark secrets of the past in time to halt the killing, or will she be next on the murderer's list?

Not as good as previous 2, but still good

I am very much enjoying this series. however this third book was not as enjoyable as the previous two. honestly too much Gore in it for my liking, but it's still a good storyline!

This is a great series!

I’m enjoying this series more as I continue reading each book! The author is very good at bringing each story together and making it cohesive in the end.

Not my favorite

Not my favorite DI Hart mystery. But enjoyable nonetheless. Could have used a male and female narrator. Would have helped. Some good humorous or ironic writing as usual😄.

Another great one

So many twists and turns in this one. I love how well researched they are and how well the locations are described. Excellent and highly recommended.

Yikes!!!

The previous two installments were light, entertaining, easy listening. I loved the authors' first-hand insight into the Oxford community. Unfortunately, the writing in this book went from soothingly simple to annoyingly juvenile. The narration and the narrative certainly didn’t do each other any favors. Likewise, the plot relied on negative stereotypes and childish logic. The real tragedy is that a few minor changes could have saved the story from itself.

Worst yet of the series…

How in the world did Hart ever become a detective? She was clueless the entire time and let some surly pompous ass bully her around. And her “do good, holier than thou” attitude in this one was too much. I could barely stand to finish it. I rolled my eyes way more than I should have while listening.
Hopefully the next one will be better.
There are much better series that I’ve enjoyed much more.
