Publisher's summary

"Will...get me pregnant."

Sixteen years ago, I lost the love of my life. Callum was everything to me, right up until a twist of fate tore us apart. After that, I thought Cal was out of my life for good. But I thought wrong. Now, Cal's back, and he only wants one thing from me: a baby.

Talk about a curve ball, right? It might have been, if I didn't happen to run the best fertility clinic in the city. Even though I know Cal and I are still over, I'd never dream of denying him the chance to become a father. Even though having a baby is the last thing on my mind. Even though the sperm donor he ends up choosing bears a striking number of similarities to, well, me.

But if I thought hooking my favorite ex-boyfriend up with some premium baby batter was going to be the end of it, it turns out I'm wrong again. Sparks are flying between Cal and I, and the hotter the flames of passion burn between us, the more complicated the story gets.

See, Cal isn't my only ex. When my psychopathic, baby-crazy former boyfriend learns that Cal and I might have a chance together, he'll stop at nothing to break us up all over again.

But that's the thing about love. Sometimes, the harder the universe pulls you away from each other, the closer you become. I'll do whatever it takes to protect Cal and his baby, whether it's mine or not. This time, Cal's mine, and he's staying that way. I'm not making the same mistake twice.

Awesome

Thought this would be a typical doctor daddy read but was surprised at all the twists and turns, definitely worth the read or listen.

second chance romance

First off, I enjoyed the narrator's accents, voices, and expressions because they brought it to life.
Will was a sneaky psycho coward from start to finish. Cal and his mom were priceless with their convos! Twist, betrayals, and backstabbing, but love wins in the end and jealousy and evil are losers. I love how a vindictive evil act from Will
turns into helping out a second chance instead of tearing it apart. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

entertaining

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

Story comment: there are some concepts in this story that had me rolling my eyes in disbelief, but I went in looking for entertainment and was thoroughly entertained. The story has good pace, Cal and Liam are well written and the banter between them was fun.

Ken Kamlet is a new narrator for me, and I think he's done a reasonable job of Omega's Secret Lovers. He's given the characters their own voices and the inflections and intonations all work to bring the characters and story to life, but at times the narration felt ... inconsistent, the rise and fall in pitch vaired to extreme - whispers were hard to hear and the characters spoke too fast so that words were almost running together and i had trouble keeping up with what was being said.

Not your typical "Daddy" book!

Aiden Bates is one of my "go to" authors. This book is not your typical "Daddy" story line! An enjoyable listen with great characters, story line, and narration. You can't go wrong with this one.

Not up to this author's usual standards

This one began quite well, but then... it got unnecessarily complicated. The plot was downright silly. I would have bought the whole 'it's really my baby!' thing if it had been just a freaking accident. Psycho boyfriend stashed the stolen sperm at the bank, and that was the one that Cal choose. But that being part of a plan? How he would have managed to be sure that that was the one chosen? And the whole bugged cap thing? Really? That's... argh!

Nevertheless, the romance was sweet, so there is that :P

Now, Ken Kamlet's narration was... uneven. I hated some parts (the laughs, the sighs, the panting, the way he said cupcake), but others were really good. I guess I'll have to wait and see what comes next from him.
