Another Fun Romp with My Favorite Doctor!

There are some very interesting characters here, which David Tennant does beautifully. The story is solid , but not spectacular. Still, it's an enjoyable read for any Whovian.

Can't beat Tennant as Who

I, of course, love David Tennant as Dr. Who; the light spirit with a somber heart. This book is reflective of that, as well as being a pretty darn good mystery. I'm writing this over a year after listening to it and the story still remains fresh in my memory. If you are a David Tennant/Dr. Who fan, I think you will thoroughly enjoy this book.

One of my favorite Doctor Who Audio Books

What did you love best about Doctor Who?

This story was engaging right from the start. I loved the humanity of the storyline, and the contrast of The Doctor.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The Doctor is always the easy answer, but Katie and Petra were right up there. They were both very relate-able, and written in a way that rang true which I felt gave the rest of the story credibility.

Which scene was your favorite?

The end. No spoilers, but it was great.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a few times, and definitely smiled a lot. I found the book very engaging, as part of that it did make me sad in parts as well. It had a good ending though!

Any additional comments?

I'm not sure why this book has gotten some lower reviews than other Doctor Who Audio books, of the ones I have listened to thus far I think it's my favorite!

david tennant is an ace narrator

DT flows from narrating in his native scottish accent to the perfect clipped doctor & even all the additional characters are well done & easily recognisable.
all his doctor who stories are great & i recommend for dr who fans, young listeners (over 8 & with an adult as some are quite scary!) and anyone who likes a good romp. his characterisation of rose & mickey in the earlier stories is delightful.
my only complaint is the slightly OTT sound effects in this story - not necessary & quite scary (yup i'm a scaredy-cat!)

you'll be missed DT

Great story!

I think the story definitely portrayed an adventure the 10th Doctor would have had. David Tennant did a great job at narrating. Sometimes his accent did push through into other characters but no complaints here. The sound effects were wonderful and definitely helped the story sound just like an episode.

Loved It!

In the fine tradition of juvenile novels written by the likes of Heinlein, it was a fast, entertaining and easy to follow book. David Tennant's reading of it made it all the more believable. From the bits where he is playing the Doctor to the narrations where his regional accent becomes more pronounced he is a skillful orator.

this audio book is just one of the best!!!!

Having it narrated by David Tennant was great. He did different voices for each character. And the sound effects were great. I have alway love doctor who the tv show. But listening to an audio book of doctor who was as good as watching it on tv. I listened to most of the story in one listen. I could not turn it off. The writer of this doctor who story did a great job. So i gave this audio book 5 out of 5 and i cant wait till i listen to more doctor who audio books.
