About this listen
There’s a place in Texas the locals avoid at all cost, where the lost go missing and the damned reside.
You won’t find it on any map, there are no road signs to guide you, and once there, may God have mercy on your soul.
For when the scarecrow awakens, the harvest of the living begins.
The year 1978: Sheriff Harold Smite has done all he can to make the yearly harvest run smoothly, but something out in the corn is dying to get free.
Jane Lipman faced the harvest nine years ago and survived. She’s done everything she can to make peace with the past, but Donn, TX, isn’t done with her.
Bonnie Smite thought she was simply run-down, but she’s been chosen for something special. Something only the Pale Man knows about and that he’s not sharing.
Welcome to Donn, TX: Gateway to Hell.
The Donn, TX stories can be listened to in any order.

Story
Three low-income families have been given a handsome retainer to join Geraldine Borden for a day at her cliffside estate. All the parents must do to collect the rest of their money is allow their children to test out the revolutionary playground equipment Geraldine has been working on for decades. But there’s a reason the structures in the bowels of her gothic castle have taken so long to develop—they were never meant to see the light of day.

Story
When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the sleepless nights, grueling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs. But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble.

The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

5
The Donn, TX books get better with each installment. This is one of the most talented authors I know that seems to be easily overlooked, and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. He can blend violence with a story with so much depth to the setting and characters. I can't tell you how many books I've read that there was violence, but with zero world building. Reading A Butler story is always a breath of fresh air.
This book played in my head, as I turned each page, like a movie was literally playing in my imagination. If I could give this book 10 stars I would, but 5 seems to be the highest I can rate it.

Welcome To Your Newest Nightmare
Eric Butler's writing is like a multi-car crash.
It's devastating, horrible, makes you feel sick, and yet you can't look away. The Donn TX Series consists of 5 books. They can stand alone but don't deprive yourself of the collection.
They are Individually, Donn, TX 1865, 1926, 1969,1978 and 2002.
*Warning* Donn TX 1978 does have a scene involving insest. If that's a trigger for anyone, you can skip past it.
If you genuinely like unbelievable horror, gruesome, macabre and nightmare inducing stories, this is your book. Along with the others in the collection.
Eric Butler is a brilliant, talented and gifted storyteller. ❤️
The narrator Micah Cottingham is Fantastic.
She narrates all of Eric Butler's books. She has the perfect voice and I honestly love listening to her. ❤️
