When Link joined his best friend, Ethan Wate, on a quest through a mysterious network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, he knew the journey would be dangerous. But returning home to Gatlin, South Carolina, was just the beginning....

Wounded during a climactic battle, Link discovers that tending his injuries won't be as simple as visiting a doctor, and that healing his arm should be the least of his worries. For being bitten by a Supernatural does more than break the skin - it changes a person, inside and out, turning Link into someone more and more like the dark creature who injured him.

In this never-before-seen short story by New York Times best-selling authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, listeners witness Link's heart-racing transformation. Dream Dark is set before the much-anticipated third Beautiful Creatures novel, Beautiful Chaos, and as a special bonus includes an exclusive sneak peek at the first five chapters.

none

Have you listened to any of Kevin T. Collins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Absolutely!

What did you like best about this story?

That it picked up where the other novels in the series left off or rather fell in nicely with the rest of the series.

Did Dream Dark: A Beautiful Creatures Story inspire you to do anything?

Love Deeper. REMINDER: Intelligence = sex appeal (the real deal)

Any additional comments?

If you enjoy coming of age love stories, anything supernatural, bro-mances, or YA novels, you should definitely give this series a chance!

Mediocre in comparison to rest of series

If you could sum up Dream Dark: A Beautiful Creatures Story in three words, what would they be?

The Linkubus Lives!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Link, of course, whose story this is. A beautifully rendered tale about what happens to Link after he's bitten by the half breed during his stand with his friends during Beautiful Darkness. Link is his usual funny self (without thinking he's funny) and the dialog between him and Ridley.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Link is going through the physical changes after being bitten and learning to deal with inordinate strength, trying to deal with his new dietary needs and his mother's suspicions.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, no extreme reactions but I did laugh, often, because Link is just funny.

Any additional comments?

This short story was well worth the reading before beginning Beautiful Chaos because it fills in Link's storyline to bring you up to speed for the next book.

I have listened to the first 2 books in this series. This book is labeled 2.5. It is a short book that is a bridge between book 2 and 3. I liked it, because it gave more details about what is happening with Link and Riddley, continues what is happening between Ethan and Lena also. Great information to make some things more clear, before starting book 3.

Any additional comments?

Even though this was a short novel, it really filled in the gaps and left me wanting more!

What did you like best about Dream Dark: A Beautiful Creatures Story? What did you like least?

The story is awesome. The story occurs between "Beautiful Darkness" and "Beautiful Chaos". A true Casters fan will definitely want to hear it, but don't spend a whole credit on it. Pay the $3.29 instead. Although it says it is 3:23:40 long, the actual story is only 1:15:30 The rest of the time is the first three chapters of "Beautiful Chaos".

Awesome story, but way to short

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

It was fun to hear Link's side of the story. But the story was really short. The majority of the audio is a preview (5 chapters) of Beautiful Chaos. So now I don't want to waste a credit on the next book since I already heard half of it.

Interesting, but not worth the money

This book was short and sweet, but incredibly worth the read. I'm glad Dangerous Creatures is available so the relationship between Rid and Link is explorable.
