About this listen

Experience the harrowing, post-apocalyptic series now available in a box set!

Survival of the fittest becomes harsh reality in the blink of an eye.

After an EMP attack, Greg Healy must safely navigate his daughter and estranged father through the treacherous Canadian wilderness to reunite with those holding down the family’s ranch, where frightening responsibilities have fallen on his son’s seventeen-year-old shoulders. But more than miles separate them in this post-apocalyptic nightmare, as shocking secrets come to light and vicious adversaries threaten to tear apart the fractured family.

As the Healys struggle to overcome the distance between them, ruthless enemies amass against the family with one goal - take their resources by any means necessary. The ranch proves time and again to be an irresistible draw in a world governed by Old West vigilantism, forcing the Healys to face the most difficult decision of all.

Sacrifice the ranch or witness the destruction of their family.

This thrilling post-apocalyptic box set includes all three novels in the EMP: Return of the Wild West series:
Survive the Fall
Survive the Attack
Survive the Journey

Prepper survivalist author Grace Hamilton invites you to step into a post-apocalyptic, EMP-ravaged world filled with strong, resourceful characters, survivalist knowledge, and edge-of-your seat action.

Good story. But poor marksmanship

I enjoyed this three book series on audible. Narration was really excellent. Interesting to hear a Prepper story about Canadians, who n Canada. One frustration was that all the good guys are absolutely horrible marksmen. Like storm troopers they almost always miss their target. But maybe we should expect that of Canadians.

Not bad

Loved how the story line lined up, was also a big fan as it had several cliffhangers throughout.

1st 2 books were OK

The story line has a lot of potential. The characters made a lot of mistakes in the beginning, but that is more realistic than a lot of post apocalyptic novels where everyone is a weapons and tactical savant. As stated in other reviews, the narrator plays the kids voices as very whiney and the dad isn't very likable. I'm about 1/2 way thru the 3rd book and losing patience and interest. It has been almost a year now and the characters are still doing really stupid things (spoilers), like leaving food behind because there isn't room in the wagon for EVERYONE to ride. Shouldn't the young and healthy be walking at least part of the time. And then there is leaving valuable cattle to wander behind the group and they're surprised when they wander off! I think the author should have done more research on livestock farming before writing a novel about it. I've reached a point where I really don't care any more and may not continue...

Villains

This has been such a good series! Never expected less from Grace Hamilton! I’ve loved every book written by her. It’s an EMP story but different. Keep up the wonderful work.

The world ends again - loved it!

First doomsday book I've listened to which takes place in British Columbia. Really enjoy being able to listen to a complete series so this box set was great. May listen to this one again sometime.

I always wanted more

I was hoping to snag a good 3 book value. Sometimes it felt like the author got lost in the thoughts of the characters and at times choices just seemed very unrealistic.

I also had a tough time with the narrator or it was the way the story went. I listened to all three books but was always hoping or wanting more.

It drew me in

I write this review with reference to the complete series. As the first book started, I struggled a bit to warm up to it. I’m used to a bit grittier apocalyptic story line, than what I was listening to. The characters, at first, seemed juvenile, as was the language, but, the storyline was well done.
As the series progressed, I found myself drawn to it, listening at every opportunity. The decisions made by the main characters were at times mind numbingly stupid, which is exactly how many inexperienced people would actually react…stupidly! The determination and resolve to survive, even by unconversant victims of an apocalyptic event, characterizes our ability to adapt, as a people.
Grace Hamilton is an accomplished author, and demonstrated how unprepared individuals can and likely will survive through their grit and determination. They will learn, or die.
Narration by Andrew Tell was well done.
Be it know that I received this series, free of charge, in reciprocity of a true and honest evaluation of the work presented.

Decent story

I liked the series overall. The language used in the story was a little hokey. People don’t talk the way the characters talked. Maybe it’s because they are Canadian?
