Publisher's summary

A surprise attack. A grid down. A fight for survival.

John Beck wants to be a good man, a great father, and a supportive husband. Though his inner demons have put those goals far out of reach. Could the end of the world be the beginning a second chance for Beck? When a surprise EMP attack on the United States sends the nation into a tailspin, Beck goes into action. He works to be the man he always wanted to be and in the process becomes a legend.

Book 1: Best Laid Plans

John Beck is the hero we don't deserve but he's exactly who we need when the world falls apart.

When a surprise EMP attack kills the power grid across most of the United States, the nation crumbles but a hero rises. John Beck makes it his mission to help the weak against the strong in a new, lawless wilderness. All the while, he fights the demons of his past as he searches for the only family he has left.

Book 2: No Good Deed

Apocalyptic survivor John Beck has beaten the wolves who prey on the sheep. But can he defeat his own demons on his path to redemption?

John Beck is on a mission to find his daughter. After learning she has left him handwritten letters as clues, he and new friends embark on what could be the end of his quixotic odyssey to reunite with his daughter. But before he finds her, dangerous obstacles stand in his way and they could as quickly kill him as lead to his salvation.

Book 3: One in the Hand

John Beck is a man possessed. But can he right the wrongs without succumbing to his own demons?

After barely surviving his wounds, the legendary John Beck is at the mercy of others. Will he listen to their counsel or will he defy their wishes and again set out on a fool's errand? It's a mission that could just as easily undo the good he's done as it might redeem him once and for all in an unforgiving world where the real power lies with those who take it from those not strong enough to hold on.

One in the Hand is book three in The Crusader EMP Post-Apocalyptic Series and is perfect for fans of Kyla Stone, Franklin Horton, AR Shaw, Ryan Schow, and Jack Hunt.

Great as always

I have read and listened to a ton of this author's books over the years and have always enjoyed them. I like the references to his other books and characters that he sneaks in also.

A story that have it all

Tom Abraham wove a story of loyalty and love into an apocalyptic adventure. He managed to throw in a reference to Marcus Battle.
A must read, get the entire series you will not regret it

Abrahams is a Master

Absolutely masterful storytelling of a really great storyline. Abrahams is a master of the game, if you love the genre. I don’t think I’ve read better character development across ANY genre. A must-read/listen!

Great story

I'm not a big fan of dystopian stories but this one snatched my attention from the beggining.
So glad i took a chance on it.

An Intense Journey!

I enjoyed the first three books in this post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller. The characters are engaging; the story is both thrilling and fear inducing. There is plenty if action, adventure, intrigue, horror and humor. This series made me wonder what would happen to our society if we were struck with an EMP. Who who survive? I look forward to the next book in this series! The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.

Great story... well written, voice actor... good

So, as noted, very good apocalyptic story. Emp attack which is much more possible than zombies. Very human story, realistic... almost... so certainly had too much detail. Some love that sort of stuff, or often depends. I like a voice that I can distinguish between man and woman voice, that was one of the few issues... a woman's voice is hard to know if he speaks as one.

Tom Abrahams writes good books

All the books I have read/listened to so far have been fairly formulaic. That doesn't bother me. In fact I enjoy it sometimes because sometimes I like to listen/read whilst doing something or in crowded environments (ie. airports) so I don't want anything too taxing for those times.

The characters are good. The story is good. It's all good. If you like Tom Abrahams other books you will like these.

A lot of men seem to be a bit upset by these books (read the reviews if you want to read men getting bent out of shape by strong female protagonists LOL) but I applaud Mr. Abrahams for writing some female characters that simpering women having conniptions every time something awful happens. I am also seeing a lot of men (and some women too) complaining that too much attention is given to the main protagonists internal monologue. I didn't even recognise that this would be an issue. I understood that he was a haunted man and getting inside his mind was required to understand the story. I guess some people just want to read books about nothing but action. Pity.
