Publisher's summary

Riana's terrified of these fierce Kordolians. They fight like demons and possess strange alien technology that makes them damn hard to kill.

After her nerve-wracking experience on the superfreighter Hendrix II, she wants nothing to do with them. All she wants to do is live a peaceful Kordolian-free life back on Earth. Too bad the Board of Corrections is on her case over past misdemeanors. Too bad someone's trying to kill her. She has no idea why. Too bad the only one who can keep her safe is a scary-hot, silent alien with coldfire eyes and a very sharp sword. But hey, at least she doesn't have to deal with flesh-eating insectoid monsters anymore.

The only monster she has to deal with now is a silver-skinned one named Kail. And he's more than a match for her attackers. That's reassuring...right?

Contains mature themes.

Great Sci-Fi romance!

I love these audiobooks by Anna Carven! This story is about a one time hacker who ended up on the now destroyed Fortuna Tau station as part of restitution for her hacking crimes. Now the Federation says that just because she didn’t finish a few hours of her sentence, (because they had to abandon the space station) she has to be under micro surveillance for another year! Disgruntled, she’s asked by her friend Erin, who has a Cordolian mate to help figure it who sabotaged Fortuna Tau. Enter a big tough Cordolian bodyguard who is supposed to protect her while she does the job. There is a lot of action and she’s purposefully given a serious infection by the people trying to kill her and he saves her life and grows to care for her. She’s smitten with the big silver alien too. Can they manage to finish the job and stay alive, while staying under the Federation radar? Great narration.

Swoon-worthy and Action-Packed!

Kail and Riana. What a pair! Kail is the ultimate scary Kordolian, always working alone, full of darkness and secrets, ‘the dark one’, branded by tribal scarring on his face and back. Riana goes from feelings of terror at being near him, to head over heels. It’s a slow process, where Kail is also deeply affected on the inside but rarely shows it. She holds the key to finding what he needs, and he must protect her from assassins. This book is action packed and full of wonderfully tense situations. Kail is a being of few, but specific words, which make him an intense lover. The story leads up to a beautifully complex resolution and happy ending.

Great story, great series, great narration

Electric Heart is a great story. It will make the most sense if you listen to it after reading some of the other books in the series. The series is awesome, there is spice, scary but sexy aliens, drama, conflict and of course happy endings! Jillian Macie is awesome to listen to. She captures the characters well and has a peaceful and soothing voice. I have read this book, listened to it and I am sure I will do both again.

Riana’s story won me over

Love smart savvy quiet intelligent Riana. She knew when to play her cards close. She kept her head down and moved forward. But know of that helped her when she returned to earth and resumes her life. Someone was out to get her and none of the traditional safeguards was going to help her. She needed otherworldly protection. Kail comes in to the picture but he had his own way about things. These two had more in common than either would have guessed. They run for her life and seeking the truth may cost them both their life but it was one full journey.

Narration was just a backdrop to the story and allowed for it to play smoothly across my mind.

Very good alien romance series!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌍
Character development: 😊😅🤨😔
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The Hero: Riana - she was a hacker who was caught ended up in the offender enlistment program had enlisted on Fortuna Tau as a peacekeeper. Though she lived through a nightmare of killer alien bugs and 7-foot-tall ebony clad silver warriors. After she was evacuated from Fortuna Tau, she ended up on a doomed freighter. She now had returned to earth and was told she had failed to meet the requirements of her service because she was one day short. She now has to serve another year of being tracked and watched by the Federation.

The heroine: Kail - He is a Kordolian known as the hunter, the bringer of justice. He was a tracker, a spy and sometimes an executioner. He is now working on Earth hunting the alien bugs called Zargek. He always works alone, and he hates humans. He can’t understand why some of the males he works with have gotten human mates. Though he did like the way the small female on the freighter looked at him when they were both on the freighter together.

The Story: Kail is tasked to do a job where he needs to protect Riana because she is the one hacker who can help do something they needed. They end up traveling across the Sahara. Kail is a fearsome warrior who often works on his own and is often able to take down a bunch of humans at a time despite being shot by their bolt guns. While Riana is soft and didn’t like it when he killed, so she often demanded he let their opponents go without killing them.

I did like the story. It was a journey and I like those types of stories where the two main characters go from place to place while falling for each other. I also like the fact that the Kordolians are so strong and nearly indestructible. They also have some cool tech, like the nanites that come out of them to create a suit of armor that protects them better than almost any type of armor humans could create.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Jillian Macie. I generally dislike any audiobooks that don’t have dual or duet narration, though I do really like Jillian Macie, she has a great voice and is terrific at showing emotion through her voice. She always does a terrific job and the same was true for this book.
