About this listen

Becca is a runner.

She ran from me the first day we met, and she still runs all the time - from us, from what we could be.

She tells me it’s because she doesn’t believe in love. I tell her, "believe in me.” Because I, Lars Samuels, will rock her world and treat her like a queen.

She says, “Ha, I will never be caught.”

Good thing I’m really good at catching things. I should be. I’m the best wide receiver on the Columbus Comets football team.

I like winning. So I’m going to win her. Once I catch her, of course.

Eligible Receiver is the third novel in the best-selling Men of Fall football romance series.

This audiobook can be listened to as a stand-alone.

Touchdown!

Book boyfriends. I don't play into the whole thing of finding the perfect one. But I have to say, I think I get it now. Eligible Receiver by SR Grey has changed my views and I love it! Lars is a football player and is set up with Becca by his friend. Little do they know they have met before! But the closer they get, the more she runs. Will he be fast enough to catch her? Becca is an interesting character. I love her working in the wedding field, but having a commitment fear. And Lars, this man just melted my heart. Far from perfect but entirely lovable. Grey writes her magic with a combination of humor and romance, and honestly, I can't get enough. It's low angst, easy to listen to and most important keeps me engaged and wanting more. As was her Men of Winter series, this one integrates characters we know from the first two books in the series, and for me it makes the listen that much more enjoyable. It's like coming home to good friends. Another touchdown!

Narrated by Reagan West and Oliver Clarke, the story comes alive. I enjoyed both of the performances, and thought they understood their characters and gave them exactly the voices and emotions to make them real. This is a great team and one I would love to hear again.

A Very Sweet, Low-Angst Listen

OVERALL: I always enjoy an opportunity to experience a new-to-me author and two new-to-me narrators. This is book three in the series, but it can definitely be read/listened to as a standalone. That being said, now that I’ve listened to it, I’d like to go back and experience the rest of the Men of Fall series. There’s romance, there’s insta-love/lust, there’s friends-to-lovers, there’s sex, and there’s humor…. All with very little drama. It’s a great easy listen/read to fall into that world and be immersed in it for a few hours.

STORYLINE: I loved that it had a little bit of everything. They were instantly attracted to each other, but Becca kept pushing him away/running away. While it could have seemed creepy (and has in other books), I found Lars’s insistence on chasing Becca really endearing; he doesn’t push her. He takes it slow with her and develops a friendship with her. I could see the misunderstanding coming, and I wanted to facepalm myself AND smack Becca at the same time! Thankfully, there’s low-angst and the misunderstanding is solved fairly easily.

CHARACTERS: Becca is a wedding consultant who has given up on love and is totally convinced she won’t fall for Lars (okay girl! Good luck!) Lars is a wide receiver for the Columbus Comets who immediately wants Becca and is willing to win her over. Lars is a very sweet character. His respect for Becca's boundaries was really refreshing. Jodi, Becca’s co-partner in the wedding business, is also a really fun character. I loved her friendship with Becca.

NARRATION: This book uses dual narration. I really enjoyed Reagan West’s voice. She’s easy to listen to, and she makes Becca more relatable. Oliver Clarke’s voice is smooth, deep, and very sexy. Their chemistry is great, and I loved their banter. I found both of them seemed to really understand their characters well and made them feel even more “real.”

Super sweet! Steamy! Great Narration!

Both narrators do a great job! The male narrator had a wonderful tone, and the female narrator fit the characters really well. A great listening experience!

I really ended up enjoying this! It’s a super sweet romance. The connection between Lars and Becca is really great. Good chemistry and cute banter. There’s a fun first meet; a little sleazy, but still cute. Becca and Lars meet at a movie and have a passionate make out, but Becca ends up running away before exchanging names even. Becca has some issues trusting in romance, so she tends to run away. Luckily, their best friends are married to each other, so the friends setup a blind date between Becca and Lars. Surprise!! Unfortunately, Becca has some stupid idea of being friends only with Lars; you know she would be jealous in 2 seconds flat if he started dating someone else. Luckily, Lars knows she’s being ridiculous, so he’s willing to put in the effort to win Becca over. I was thinking I am not vibe-ing with Becca in the beginning, but I ended up liking her. She has her issues and is a bit kooky, but she has a good heart. Lars is a total sweetheart! Except for a thing towards the end, he’s great. These two are hot stuff together! Loved the forced proximity scenario! This was a light, easy read with some good steam!

Fun, Heartfelt, and Steamy Romance!

What a sweet and moving addition to the Men of Fall series. Ms. Grey continues to make this series fresh, fun, and heartfelt. Becca and Lars have a sizzling meet cute that is over as fast as it started. Then they surprisingly meet again when they are set up on a blind date. Their attraction is undeniable but Becca doesn't believe in love and wants to just be friends. Lars isn't afraid of a challenge and will honor her wishes until he proves to her that they are meant for each other. I loved Becca and Lars together, they had fun together and their chemistry was off the charts.
Reagan West, and Oliver Clarke did a great job bringing this delightful, heartwarming romance to life. Their expressions, and voice changes were wonderful, and the comedic timing was spot on. I really enjoyed both their performances and thought they made this sweet, fun, and steamy romance even better!

Loved this story!!

Lars and Becca both end up at the same movie theater on Valentine’s Day. Neither have dates and are trying to hide from the holiday. They have an instant connection but she runs when it gets to be too much too fast.

Lars’ teammate and his wife want to set him up on a blind date - who just happens to be Becca. She runs again but is he fast enough to catch her? Will she let the receiver catch her and take her to their happily ever after?

Both narrators did an amazing job of voicing and bringing the characters to life. They brought you in to the story as if you were right there and were feeling everything they did. Definitely worth the listen!!

Entertaining

This is the third book in the latest series from S.R. Grey and as I have come to expect from her books, it was well written, with characters that you cannot help but fall for and I was totally invested in the story that Ms.Grey wove. Eligible Receiver is a great addition to the Men of Fall series.

Narrated by Reagan West and Oliver Clarke, they did a great job with their narration and brought the story to life for me.

Lars Samuels is the wide receiver for the Columbus Comets football team. As you would expect, he is a confident, dynamic personality who refuses to take no for an answer.

I really loved both Lars and Becca separately and especially together. Eligible Receiver is extremely well written with characters that will engage you and a story that will draw you in, hook, line and sinker. There was plenty of steam, laughter and romance and I absolutely devoured it. Lars is certainly swoon worthy and Becca is a woman who could certainly be my friend.

Fate steps in

This is such a sweet story of perfect strangers who are destined to meet. Becca has given up on finding love but when she meets a stranger in the movie theater and the sparks fly she wonders if maybe she was wrong. Lars is happy to finally meet someone who isn't after him for his money or his fame and there is definitely something with him and Becca.

This story shows us how sometimes even when we least expect it love will find a way into our hearts and it did for Becca and Lars.

Reagan West and Oliver Clarke did a good job narrating this book. I enjoyed listening to their voices.

Ready for love

Great story, low angst. It’s exactly what I look for in a story. It doesn’t get too hung up in back story that you get bored. It jump right into the story and keeps you interested from first paragraph to last word. It’s part of a series but you don’t have to have listened to anything before it to know what’s going on. Plenty of laughter and what angst there is is just enough to keep you wanting more. Very relatable characters that I enjoyed very much!

You Can't Run from Love

I love S.R. Grey's storytelling style. Her characters are real and well developed and there is always a sense of fun and humor in her stories. Lars is a pro football player, not looking for a relationship, and Becca is a wedding planner who has given up on the idea of love and an HEA. So where do these two end up on Valentine's Day? They go to an old movie theatre and in a very unBecca-like move. She sits in the back row next to the hot guy in the ball cap. The attraction is instant and once Becca realizes she's making out with a guy she doesn't know, she runs. (This is her go-to move throughout the story.) Lars is intrigued by her but never got her name. Little do they know, each of the couples' best friends have been trying to set them up for a long time. When they meet again, the running starts anew.
Lars is not one to give up and he pursues her relentlessly. He will not give up, even when she friend zones him. He uses that to prove to her she wants him as badly as he wants her. Ms. Grey puts this couple through their paces. Poor Lars he is probably the most patient hero I've read in a long while and I loved their journey to their HEA.
I listened to this audiobook and fell in love with Oliver Clarke's voice as Lars. His voice has just the right rumbly quality to portray a rough and tumble football player, set on getting his woman. This is the second book narrated by him and I will definitely will be looking for more. Regan West is excellent as Becca. Through her vocal variations she is able to voice all of the emotions poor Becca's feels, which range from trepidation and fear to love and passion. I truly enjoyed this audiobook and look forward to more from this author and these narrators.
