Publisher's summary

When shy programmer, Charlie, is dragged to a "Magic Mike" club in Hollywood by his co-workers, the last thing he expects is to be pulled onstage. But when he's approached by Ramon, a dancer whose only focus is to bring him pleasure, something awakens in Charlie that can't be denied. Yet heated attraction only goes so far when one man dreams of true love and a life finally fulfilled, and the other is still grieving the one he lost, and the mistake that cost him everything. Can a realist and a dreamer from two different worlds move forward and build a future together, or will their painful pasts keep them from fulfilling their destiny? Contains mature themes.

Whew...One Read Only

The storyline is essentially good, however, it goes all over the place. At some point it starts to feel like words are just being thrown onto the page to make this story. This happens a number of times. It makes one wonder when will it end. When it finally does there is "some" satisfaction to said closure. A one read only book.

I second that "Whew"

As stated by previous reviewer-- this was good, then goes off on an odd feeling, word salad tangent. I had to stop and come back to finish. Because, I just.needed.to.finish. Once done, I'm just meh. I tried to love it but sigh. No.

Pleasantly surprised

I wanted to hate Ramon for how he abandoned Jason in Unforgiven. I wanted him to be the selfish asshole I remembered. But damn he was so redeemable! He and Charlie had a beautiful story and I’m so glad they got everything they wanted in the end. I wish this was a dual perspective book though. I love knowing what each main character is thinking and feeling. I liked the epilogue a lot too. If there isn’t one already, I’d want to know how Sasha’s love story turns out. She’s so cool and deserving of love. This is getting long and rambly so I’ll end it by saying I loved it

Complete

Enjoyed the non-standard relations and the Miami twist. The madam was the best character.

Love, love, love

I absolutely loved encore. This is my second book by Ruth Clampett and she doesn't disappoint! I couldn't stop listening. Eric London is one of my favorite narrators, and he nails it. Can't wait for more books by Ruth !

Like this story

The writing did a good job building out the characters and the storyline. The characters jumped off the page and the narration was good and well paced.

A good “not too heavy” listen

New to me author and narrator. Glad I gave them a chance. Both story and performance made for an enjoyable listen.

A lot of stutter steps and bumps in the road for these two characters to figure things out with each other, but it all read as very realistic, not overly fairy tale perfect or Hallmark sweet, and they (of course) get their HEA in the end.
Also some nice disability rep in the side characters.
