About this listen

Alisa Marchenko has reunited with her daughter, and even though she hasn't figured out how to get Jelena to accept Leonidas yet, she dreams of the three of them starting a new life together. They can return the Star Nomad to its original purpose of running freight and staying out of trouble (mostly).

Before that can happen, Alisa must fulfill the promise she made to Jelena: that she and her crew will retrieve young Prince Thorian, the boy who has become Jelena's best friend. But Thorian was kidnapped by the rogue Starseer Tymoteusz, the man who wants to use the Staff of Lore to take over the entire system - and the man who may have the power to do it. Alisa doesn't know why he kidnapped Thorian, but Tymoteusz once promised to kill the prince, so she fears they don't have much time.

Unfortunately, Tymoteusz hasn't left a trail of breadcrumbs. Finding him will be difficult, and even if they're successful, facing him could be suicidal. To have a chance of surviving, Alisa will have to come up with her greatest scheme yet.

Not enough sex!

This series is an amazing science fiction series but I was here for the romance arc as well. I thought the conflict in this area was hilarious and it kept us focused on the main storyline until the last couple books. I was content to wait but once we got to the intimate sections the author completely glossed over them. The buildup to the first intimate moments were for nothing because the timeline jumped ahead completely skipping them. There was one sex scene that was written in (finally) in this book. It was brief and lacking passionate description. From the beginning the author wrote the heroine and most of the supporting characters as adults who were comfortable joking about sex. This book is for adults, and written by a woman. As an adult woman with an appreciation for both romance and sex, I am disappointed. It’s like there is this stigma towards writers. I say, write in the sex. The people offended by a realistic romance can skip it.

As it stands this series is not appropriate for children so why can’t we have a couple tasteful love making scenes? I try erotica romances and it’s far too much sex and it tends to be fetishized or the plot is poorly written. Where is the in between? I loved this series and hope the author can manage the romance aspect a little better in the future.

Love, love, love

Recommend starting with the first book in the series. Total escapism, with good character development and lots of action. It's part space opera and part fantasy and has so many great characters.

While not necessarily sophisticated prose, the books are well written. I love escapist fiction but hate when it is poorly written - the author writes very well.

Love the humorous dialog and actually laughed out loud a few times. There is even a little romance thrown in. Highly recommend the entire series!

Action pact!

Very exciting!
I didn’t want it to end. I want to travel around their universe and share in the adventures too.
Even though these books are expensive to by and there are so many of them, I got some with my credits and the rest I bought wit my Amazon gift card but if there is another book, which it looks like there might be; I will have to buy that one too.

Excellent Conclusion

All the characters are awsum and have filled out personalities. the banter between them was enjoyable.
I really appreciate the woman touch, I don't think a male author could pull off the motherly vibe.
The series got a little repetitive, with being captured and escaping.
The cross genre writing was entertaining, but I wanted more... The power of the seers was like starwars force, I was waiting for more poof... The friendly android could of got a heart of gold, like Wizard of 0z... and the void rift could of led to somewhere special...
Lindsay ßuroker, made these thoughts possible... and that is what an awsum writer does... create possibilities.
I really liked the ending.

I enjoyed the series

I skipped the one soft porn scene and enjoyed the rest of the book. It ties up the loose ends of the series nicely. It’s not my all time favorite series, but a 4 out of 5 stars seems appropriate. I’ll be checking out the author’s other books after I peruse the comments for indications of more sex than story.

Kate Reading was awesome as always, although her Micah voice got on my nerves sometimes. Fortunately, Micah has limited dialogue. Otherwise, all the characters, including the men, were distinctive and consistent. Reading is the gold standard for readers as far as I am concerned. How many other readers can you listened to for over 100 hours straight?

Aw×, I hate to see it end!

"End Game" by Lindsay Buroker and performed by Kate Reading is an absolute joy and a very fitting end to a superlative series! Packed full of action, adventure, humor, and heart the entire series is wonderful. I simply wish it didn't have to end. *brava*
