Buckle up for an emotional journey of hijinks, heartache, and a hot slow-burn in this marriage-in-crisis romance about going the distance to make love last.

Aiden

I've spent 12 years loving Freya Bergman, and 12 lifetimes won't be enough to give her everything she deserves. All I want is to make her happy. But the one thing that will make her happiest is the one thing I'm not sure I can give her: a baby. With the pressure of providing and planning for a family, my anxiety's at an all-time high, and I find myself pulling away, terrified to tell my wife how I'm struggling. But when Freya kicks me out, I realize that pulling back has turned into pushing too far. Now it's the fight of a lifetime to save our marriage.

Freya

I love my cautious, hard-working husband. Until one day I realize the man I married is nowhere to be found. Now Aiden is quiet and withdrawn, and as the months wear on, the pain of our growing distance becomes too much. As if weathering marriage counseling wasn't enough, we're thrown together for an island getaway to celebrate my parents' many years of perfect marriage while ours is on the brink of collapse. Despite my meddling siblings and a week in each other's constant company, this trip somehow gets us working through the trouble in paradise. I just can't help worrying, when we leave paradise and return to the real world, will trouble find us again?

Predictable. A little too over the top. “Fun time” scenes were good. Man cubs had more scenes in this one if you are curious but they are annoying.

Least favorite of the series

It felt like it was too long and the story was meh. I almost didn’t finish it.

Not my favorite for sure

It took me a few chapters to get into this book. I almost gave up early on but something made me stay. This was a he’s broken, she’s not kind of story, and it did have some good chapters. I couldn’t really get into many of the characters, but that’s probably because they all have their own stories in other books. So While it had its moments, for me, was just Okay.

An Okay story

This book was so, so freaking good. I loved Freya and Aiden & their commitment to finding their love again. It was such a tender journey and felt so relatable. I of course loved seeing the big Bergman family together (and lovingly meddling). Can’t wait to dive into the next book.

Favorite so far!

I loved how the characters went through their ups and downs. The perspectives given were different than usually presented, in a way that was beautifully done. Definitely made me think introspectively about myself and how I handle things as well. The dynamics of the family was refreshing as well.

An emotional and heartwarming romance. I loved that this is about a married couple and what comes after the wedding. Aiden and Freya love one another deeply and are fighting hard to find their way back to each other. They are flawed like everyone else. Can their love pull them through? Goodness! I was on the edge of my seat cheering for these two to work things out. Great story.

I am Aiden the character who is the hubby in this book. If I didnt know I was reading fiction I would think someone watched some struggles in my life and then wrote a book.
#deprived of childhood ✔️lost in my work✔️insecurities in my marriage✔️abandoned by father and mother✔️ rumminating thoughts about past failures and the future✔️loving husband who questioned his self worth as I kept quiet and pulled away✔️
When i tell you this book made me laugh, cry, think and rediscover ways to enhance life with my partner… that only scratches the surface of the joy I felt reading this book. I literally put it down and picked it up.. over and over. I relistened to chapters 23-31… I wanted to be sure I got everything. It is healthy relationships, hurting people you love, loving people you love and so many laughs. The characters are loveable. You will appreciate them more if you start at book one in the bergman brothers series. My students will have an even better teacher, my kids a softer mum and my hubby a more attentive partner. My takeaway- Live in the present and be upfront about your feelings even when it is hard!
Read it and be ready to immerse yourself in this families rise through their struggles.😔😔🥰

This is so far my favorite story by this author. But, the narration is what truly makes it all come alive,

Fantastic!

I enjoyed the book. But, it hit a little too close to home which made it a little uncomfortable. Maybe if I had made my ex and I read it 15 years ago we might have found a way to move forward together. I don’t have regrets. I’m happy in my new life. :-)

Really enjoyed. But it hit a little too close..

To be fair, I’m not a big fan of romance novels where the couple is already married. That being said, I am enjoying this series, but this book was hard to get through. Aiden’s anxiety was stressful. Freya is AWFUL and doesn’t take any responsibility in their marriage until the end of the book. Everyone in their lives blames him for their problems when he is clearly working hard to be a good husband, yet no one this she needs to do anything differently. Frustrating. When I reread this series (because I am a chronic rereader of good serieses), I probably will skip this one.

Good series, but annoying book
