About this listen

Every Rose has its thorns....

Rose Chance is a dedicated Portland physician who loves shoes, clothes, and the finer things in life. Her colleagues call her Dr. Vogue, and she won't even look at a man unless he's rich. And preferably titled.

Her colleague, Matt Vasilopolous, is a Greek immigrant made good. He dresses like a schlep, always needs a shave, and doesn't seem to own a comb.

Rose can't stand a man who looks like a tramp. Matt loathes a woman who looks down at him. But when they're thrown together to save a life one day, and find themselves in the same wedding party the next, Rose and Matt can no longer deny the attraction between them.

With an English baronet and his stately home in the offing, though, will Rose choose the man she's dreamed of her whole life or the one her heart craves?

This is the fourth novel in the Take a Chance series of romantic comedies. All the books can be heard independently, but are also connected.

Book #4, I'd Love 7 More - The Rest of The Chances

This is book number 4 in the Take a Chance series.

Rose Chance is a successful, fashionable and determined doctor- a general practitioner. She is colleagues with Matt Vasilopolous, an intense and scruffy surgeon.

Rose's father, Jack, has a medical event in her office. The doctor on call is not one that Rose has a great deal of confidence in. She tracks Matt down and asks him to find out what is wrong with her father and to perform any needed surgery. He complied.

After this event, several of Rose's family members get caught up in matchmaking her with the sexy, talented surgeon. She is not going to go for it, mainly because they are colleagues.

They find that they have mutual friends – Matt & Rose are both scheduled to be part of a wedding party. After the wedding a relationship begins. Rose has laid down guidelines that are quite sterile, but meant to keep complications at bay. Their relationship hits bumps, twists, highs and lows.

My only criticism of this book would be the "fairy tale" theme throughout. Rose is a professional woman, probably in her mid to early 30s, yet she reminisces about being carried away from her family to the castle she belongs in. Near the end, up pops some information that she has been dating royalty of some sort. It all seems a bit silly and juvenile. Aside from that, this is another lovely book from the Take a Chance series. I will continue to listen if there are additional books.

Teri Schnaubelt is a professional. She gives a solid performances each and every time. This may sound a bit repetitive at this point, but she narrated all four books in the series and she is fantastic. Great job, if the series continues the author would be smart to keep Teri as the narrator. I've grown accustomed to her and I don't think anyone else would sound right.

Notes: Mature themes, in movie terms PG – 13 to R rating.

Rose was complicated and refreshing . . .

She was a woman that felt her life had more than she began with. She worked hard to get herself to where she was in life. She felt that her life had more to offer her than where it was. She did not do doctors. She did not so slob. She did not do disorganized. She did not . . . until she did. One emergency set a path for her to have the more that was missing from her life. She just did not see it until it was almost too late. She had the world in her hands and almost let it all go. Nancy Warren has delivered another of her Chance family members and unraveled another piece of the puzzle.

Teri Schnaubelt gave this one the extra little flavor. I felt the words more. I felt a deeper connection. I felt the fear, pain, sorrow, loss, determination.

A thoroughly enjoyable romance

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about Every Rose Book 4 in Nancy Warren’s Take A Chance Series. As with the other books in this series, there were cameo’s from the other wonderful members of the Chance family.

Jack pays Rose a visit and is taken ill. Rose’s colleague Matt Vasilopolous has always seemed scruffy and unkempt to perfectionist Rose, but when Jack needs surgery Rose knows that Matt is the best doctor to perform the procedure. From this moment friendship blossoms and Rose sees more to Matt.

Coincidentally they are organising the Hen and Stag do’s for their friends, who happen to be a couple. After spending more time together they start to view each other in a different light. You will have to take a chance on this book to see whether this is enough once Rose encounters the man of her dreams. Will dream or heart win out?

This is my final stop on this tour and I have fallen more in love with the Chance Family with every book. Teri Schnaubelt is an outstanding voice actor who maintains a pleasing flow throughout. Her transitions into the different voices of the various characters are seamless. I have found her voice acting to be extremely strong and a pleasure to listen to.

Awesome

Love this book. What a great series.
My only complain was when she said that the anesthesiologists put the patient to sleep and the surgical nurse intubated. This is so wrong, that’s the anesthesiologists job, not the surgical nurse.
Aside from that one hiccup, I thought this book was great...

I love Rose's story

I loved listening to Rose and Matt's story. I feel like I really get to know the characters in Nancy Warren's books. They feel like real people and extended family. I highly recommend this series if you enjoy a well crafted, fast-paced story.

Mismatched love!

She likes order and tidiness, he's chaos in motion most of the time yet they can't seem to stop being drawn to each other. An intriguing plot of a women who always thought she wanted more out of life, yet finds that all she really wants is to belong. A sweet romance to entertain and delight you. I am intrigued to see what happens with the rest of the Chance siblings in this series!

I Love this series, and every book gets better!

Every Rose has its thorns….
This was about Rose the doctor, who has always convinced herself she adopted and  belongs in a different family. This is mostly about Rose and her colleague Matt Vasilopolous who is the opposite of what she usually likes in a man. After working a case together, they go for a drink and click. I loved Matt, and it was nice to find out more about James the cop.
I have enjoyed getting to know the Chance family who feel like old friends. It was down to Nancy’s writing that she brought Rose to life so well, that I was invested enough to be so irritated
The audiobook was narration was superb as the others, I wasn’t jolted from the story once. but I couldn’t warm to Rose, I kept wanting shout at her. As this is mostly from Rose’s pov so I was irritated with her most of the time. There is always someone in a family who annoys you so it was true to life in that respect. I am going to miss the chance family, but luckily I think there are some more to listen to.

This Rose Really Does Have Thorns!

This Rose Really Does Have Thorns!

This is #04 in the Take A Chance Series by Nancy Warren.

HEA with No cliffhangers!

These are about the members of the Chase family. I suggest reading them in order to get the best experience.

Content Advisory: There is mild sexplay.

This is about Rose who is referenced as being a General Practitioner Doctor but also as birthing hundreds of babies, so it is not quite clear as to what her specialty is. She works at a hospital in Portland, so its not as if she is a small town doc that ends up doing everything. And can I mention crazy for wearing Prada heels to work. Seriously! In reading the blurb, I was a bit disappointed in her attitude for being one of the Chase siblings. After listening to this book, however, it is not quite as it seems.

Dr. Rose Chance is a very busy women, who doesn't have room for love and dating in her life. She also has some chips on her shoulder to overcome. I give her credit for being proactive and productive in her life despite her self-delusions. She is attracted to the hot Greek Surgeon at work, but can't seem to let go of her princess ideals. There are events that will force her to face things in a new light.

Dr. Mattius Vasilopolous also comes from a large close-knit family and is also too busy to even remember what day it is sometimes, or if he ate lunch. Matt and Rose have a lot in common and make for a great couple, and she makes him contemplate love at first site. I feel for the guy because it's going to be an uphill climb to get over her castle walls.

Every Rose turned out better than the blurb lets on, which was great. There is nothing wrong with wishing for a fairy-tale, but one needs to be open to reality. There is a famous quote about life and plans for a reason. Some of the secondary characters are going to show up again if you take the time to read the blurbs of future books. I'm looking forward to them all!

Nancy Warren's creativity continues to amaze. Once again she brings a unique medical situation. It is a bit cringe worthy, the way a man holds his crotch when he sees another get hit in his, but it is definitely one I have never heard of before.

Teri Schnaubelt is still great. I can't help but get lost listening to her tell me this wonderful tale.

Rose wanted too much in love

I’ll start with the audio as there is not too much to say that I haven’t in the previous three books I’ve listened to. Teri is a great narrator. I like her expressions for each character and enjoy her regular narration tone as well. She does excellent with pacing and emotion, and I honestly couldn’t see anyone else doing the narration besides Teri if more are made in the future. I give her a 5/5 stars!

As for the story itself, this was a harder one to get into. I felt that Rose was strangely stuck up and stuck in her fantasy world, and until she started changing I was not a big fan of hers. I’m glad that she realized her family is actually not that bad, and just because they have different likes and decisions does not mean you can’t get along. She relearns how to be friends and love her family in this story which does wonders for her personality lol. At first she just acts superior because she feels her decisions are the only ones. She has done a great job at running her life with being organized and a doctor with a good practice. But she was also excellent at judging people right off the bat. I sort of see a resemblance between this and the mindy project, where Mindy was always looking for her prince charming to sweep her away. Although I found Mindy more endearing, because she was willing to put in the work to date others and gave everyone a chance. I am happy that Rose changed the way she did in the story, but still find her a bit off for continuing to want this fairytale when life really isn’t one. It’s not wrong to have standards and to want specific things from someone you date/marry, but to basically want to become a princess/queen is not something you can really aspire to, unless you’ve got your hooks into the royal fam up in England lol. So I give the story a 3.5/5 stars for Rose being kinda annoying for the most part.
