Needed: fake boyfriend for destination wedding

I came out to my parents when I was 15. Sadly, this has never stopped my mother from finding lovely young women for me to date. My sister suggests I bring my own date to her destination wedding. Problem is, I don't know how to find dates. The only man I've spoken to recently is my roommate. My way too hot - straight - roommate. My sister says I should ask him to play my boyfriend. It'll be fun, she says.

Now, I'm sitting next to him on a plane, and I constantly have to adjust myself so he doesn't notice that I'm into him.

In a few hours we'll be at our hotel, sharing the only bed in the room.

I don't know how I'll survive this wedding without exploding. I do know I'll never listen to my sister again.

Fake the Date is a 60,000-word stand-alone m/m romance with little angst and lots of laughter, featuring a tropical island paradise, a not-so-fake relationship, bisexual awakening, a sassy dog, and happy endings. Buy now if you need a vacation!

Loved the story and john solo

Relaxing and perfect for vacation/staycation. Romantic. Ana byrde is in my favorites’ list along with keira andrews and tara lain. And I LOVE John Solo, his voice puts me in a cloud every time.

Adorable and Steamy!

if you like fake boyfriend romances this one is worth the listen! It has it all! Adorable MCs, tattoos, buried treasure, and a dog named Toto! Not to mention enough steam to fog up your bathroom mirror! It's a lighter story with a bit of angst thrown, an enjoyable and easy listen if you're looking for a sweet escape with an HEA.

Total enjoyment

Loved this cute story from start to finish. John Solo is a delight to listen to and really brings these characters to life for me. Going to grab more Ana Byrde stories especially if John Solo narrates.

A sweet, fluffy feel good romance!

When Ben's sister suggests he bring is hot as sin straight roommate as his date to her wedding, he is both shocked and intrigued.
But when Evan quickly agrees to the preposterous idea, he has to all but go with it.
Can two men fight the pull of the attraction between them and survive the wedding without getting hearts involved?

This was a sweet opposites attract, friends to lovers romance. I liked that there was instant attraction and chemistry between Ben and Evan.

The characters were likeable, engaging and enjoyable. The writing style appealed to me and I like the setting of the story.

John Solo's audio delivery and narration was absolutely brilliant!

If you like a sweet romance with lots of fun and laughter, little to no angst and a steamy bisexual awakening I would absolutely recommend this.

Great story

I enjoyed this story. It was very sweet. The mom sure was horrible though. For me the narration was just ok. More enjoyable then getting my seri to read it but I'm not a fan of Solo. I know that's not a popular opinion but I'm not fond of his voice and I think he overacts.

Ok

Cute idea and I enjoyed listening, but I tend to enjoy a more romantic feel instead of the surface level story. Still good, though.

Heartwarming story

This story is about finding one's self despite the many obstacles those that's supposed to love and support us place in our way. Ben for shaking off the shackles placed on him by his parents, Evan for finding himself in the most unlikely situation. Except for the family drama, their relationship was beautiful. It grew from friendship on Evan's part, infatuation on Ben's part to a beautiful romance. It was a joy to see them both fall in love. Evan's anonymous online support was hilarious and I'd love to get to know them, I hope we're introduced in future books. Enjoyed John Solo's narration, he portrayed each character very well!

Fake Date / Real Love

Fake the Date is a standalone, contemporary romance (which I hope might become the #Love Wins series). This book was wonderful! It was full of humor, romance, and fantastic characters who face their fears and go after their own happiness. I honestly did not want the book to end since I fell in love with the characters and all their quirks.

Ben and Evan are roommates and friends—which is the perfect set up for a slowburn, friends-to-lovers romance. Throw in Ben’s need for a date to his sister’s wedding, and now we have the fake-relationship trope mixed in with the other tropes. It is the perfect storm for a bunch of hijinks and misunderstandings that range from the hilarious to the angsty. I really liked the characterization of all the characters and found them unique and engaging. There was also some really hot and steamy sexy scenes that really fit well within the story. This was a well written book with a fun plot that was well-paced. I just wished it was longer.

The audiobook was narrated by John Solo who did a fantastic job with the audiobook. John voiced the characters perfectly and it was very easy to distinguish each character from each other and follow along in the story. John’s performance had the perfect amount of energy to keep the narration dynamic without overdoing it. And overall, the audiobook production was well done.

.. "I kissed a boy and I liked it" - Evan

Would I listen to it again: yes ✔
Did the story keep me engaged: yes ✔
Was I invested in the characters: yes ✔

📖 This book is a fluffy romance with a happy ending and it had me smiling. The story is entertaining and well paced. The main characters are likeable; Ben is a shy adorable mess from a wealthy (and controlling) family and Evan is a straight, confident, fitness-instagrammer who walked away from his family at 18 and has no real roots. 😊 I enjoyed seeing Ben grow as a person to face his fears and go after what he wanted, and I liked the way Evan deciding he wanted Ben was written, and it wasn't turned into a huge (but i'm straight) issue.

🎧 John Solo did a great job on the narration, I had no problem distinguishing characters and his rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the book to life. 👍 Overall a delightful listen.
