Publisher's summary

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Mia Sheridan comes her next novel in the Pelion Lake series.

How is it possible that perfect Gage Buchanan is still single after all these years?

He can't quite figure it out himself. Perhaps he hasn't met the right woman. Maybe he's spent too many years focusing on work—or maybe he just isn't as perfect as everyone thinks he is.

Gage thought he left his days of one-night stands behind him, however something about the gorgeous cocktail waitress in a town three hours away is far too intriguing. But when she shows up weeks later in his hometown, Calliope, pretending to be an art appraiser, Gage is completely blindsided—not to mention still very attracted to the (apparent) little liar. He can't figure her out: not her angle nor the persistent pull between them.

Aurora "Rory" Casteel is determined to find her father. All she knows from her late mother is that he lives in Calliope and is an important part of the town. So when Rory's gallery-owning friend offers to run cover for her while she sleuths around town, she jumps at the chance. But she doesn't anticipate the man she spent one wild night with turning out to be a local.

Sure, it puts a wrinkle in Rory's plan, but she can work around Gage Buchanan. Even as it gets harder to pretend her heart doesn't flip every time he's in the room. She has a suspicion he isn't everything he seems, but maybe it's "perfect" Gage's flaws that are what she's really drawn to.

Pelion Lake series

Falling for Gage is book 3 in the Pelion Lake series. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the books in order to get the backstory of the characters. Mia Sheridan’s books are always so well written with characters that are complex and interesting. I enjoyed the story and the narration.

The characters come to life

The storyline was perfect for this book. The characters came to life immediately feel like you were part of the story. It was a great beach read.

Loved it!

Great performance by the narrators. Gage has always seemed petty and in his element of wealth. But the night he met Cakes, he was stripped down to the man beneath the mask. He was real. Cakes took him for some money that night and he happily engaged in the banter leading to her windfall. But the pool table and Cassius have a whole different story to tell.

Memories of that night taunt Gage at inopportune times, the most bothersome being the search for the best description of her eye color. Those eyes that landed on him and fascinated him.

She’s felt the call to leave home for years and while she had fun with Gage, Rory is on a mission to find the missing piece in her life. What neither could know was that now she, Rory Castile, aka Cakes, aka Aurora Castle, will find him in a towel and lead him on a number of “goose chases”, many with a friend or dogs in tow. To say these goose chase are entertaining is putting it mildly. I was outright laughing.

The truth must come out and a partnership is formed. Unfortunately, circumstances prevent them from acting on impulses which are absolutely pulsating 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!

Some more crazy actions and Gage is being hailed no longer as the perfect son; instead being whispered about as imbibing too much due to the stress of his job taking him to London. Add in a pact for marriage of unmarried by a certain age, along with manipulation, and more laughter ensues, along with frustration, confusion and hurt.

Pups, raccoons and cats. Oh! And the boxwood blight! All important to this story. 🤣🤣🤣

Self discovery is the root of this story. Family’s misguided intentions and lies told lead to a break in Rory’s search, as well as her heart.

Family can also be the best thing on earth. Welcomed with wide open arms, the call to find the missing piece has led to her rightful place in Pelion Lake. As for Gage, admitting your heart’s desire and passions to family is just about the hardest thing he’s ever done. He’s no longer perfect and hurting everyone he loves.

Between the pups and an old bank, love is born and given life.

So glad to see Travis and Haven, as well as Archer and Bree. The “realest” people in the community filled with heirs (and airs).

A romance for the ages

For those looking to read a feel good love story, this is the one. As with all of Miss Sheridan’s books, she weaves her stories with just enough angst and heart felt emotions that make you want to curl up and say ah! The internal dialogue of Rory and Gage helped us connect with them on a deeper level and gave us insight to fully understand their motivations and drive. Another fantastic read and loved the way this one came all together with Archer and Travis’s stories.

Deep, genuine love and undoubted attraction

Loved everything about it! I had read Travis and Archer’s Voice and the way those characters were worked in, was excellent!

Super cute

This book was super cute. I like how Mia gave Gage a book. If you haven’t read Archers Voice or Travis then I would recommend you reading those books first. However, it is not necessary for you to read them first just that they appear in this book and something’s will make sense. It comes full circle with Rory. I loved how Rory was avoiding Gage and making Gage look like a crazy person. From the second he saw her, he knew that she was going to be his but didn’t know how to make it work with his job and his obligations to his family. Mia wrote another great book.
