About this listen

Three men uncover a plot to launch nuclear weapons at China's port cities in this heart-pounding military thriller from New York Times best-selling author Larry Bond.

Jerry Mitchell, skipper of the USS North Dakota, receives a message from Girish Samant, a submarine captain and former enemy of his, requesting a meeting. That meeting revives memories of a submarine he'd served on many years ago and a mission that proved far more dangerous and important than he had expected.

Girish once tried to kill Jerry, but now he and Aleksey Petrov, a former Russian sub captain, need the American's help to uncover a terrible truth: Nuclear relics of the fallen Soviet Empire are being sold to people more than willing to use them. A group of Indian nationalists are plotting to cripple China's economy with the bootleg nuclear weapons. Jerry and his comrades must stop the cabal's plan before they trigger an Asian nuclear war.

Perfect

While it had more of a single story line, it was so well written an executed it was hard to put down. And it didn't focus just on Jerry Mitchell. Although I was never excited about submarine novels before the first Jerry Mitchell, I can't wait for the next one. Especially since there's a lack of Mitch Rapp and "Tom Clancy" books.

I was totally into the book, I could not put it down. Looking forward to reading another book by Larry Bond, I enjoy Dick Hill as the narrator.

Good story but needed more Jerry

The story line was great but much less time on board subs as in previous Jerry Mitchell books. Still a solid novel and as always Dick Hill is amazing narrating.

Submarine Strategy at its’ best

Larry Bond delivered another great novel with known and well developed characters from previous novels. Great story line in that it was easily believable in this day and age of tensions between nations.
The only thing that I didn’t like - I always like the novels to be longer! I guess I’ll just have to get another Larry Bond novel to feed my addiction!
One last thing, Dick Hill has the most amazing voice! He makes me feel like like I’m a fly on the wall. His voice is pure butter - smooth and rich!
This novel is definitely worth your time.

A great series finale!

I'm thankful the author decided to go ahead with this fifth book. Dramatic story full of tense situations brought to life as only Dick Hill can do.

A Uniquely Intreging and Engaging Sequal

This story is every bit as interesting and entertaining as the others in this series. Dick Hill never fails to delivery a stunning performance. I especially love the level of detail and imagery invoke in the telling of the story. Just wish Larry Bond would publish even move books.

Someone Really Did It and Tried Again

Jerry can be found at the heart and any action affecting the U.S. Navy's Submarine Force. Enjoy!

Hated it ... Then LOVED it.

My first review "Worst book in the series! I don’t know if The author had a bad year...". Six months later I had a need to hear a Sub Novel, so I re-tried this book. What a surprise! This was a fantastic creative adventure. It highlight the friction between India and China. Great read; But take my experience to heart. Some books appear terrible because You are not in the right MODE. Give it some time and come back and you'll be rewarded.
