About this listen

From the author who collaborated with Tom Clancy on Red Storm Rising, this is the book that dares to show us the military hardware, global upheavals, and raw combat a second Korean War would unleash. How F-16s would blast across the 38th Parallel. How ultra-modern submarines would vie for the seas. And how two armies would turn the snowfields of Asia red with blood. A thundering geopolitical thriller of vast scope, this is Red Phoenix - and a new standard for military/political suspense fiction.©1990 Larry Bond (P)2006 Brilliance Audio, Inc. this book is a great depiction of a fictional second korean war. I really liked how visceral and unapologetic the combat is.

throughly enjoyed it

started this book about 4 days ago and every spare minute, I had it on.

A book and reading you can't put down.

Larry Bond delivers a brilliant war novel in the spirit of nail-biters from the good old days, back when the late Tom Clancy and those like them produced truly gripping and inspired yarns. The narration leaves a little to be desired of, but it was the 90s and neither the audiobook artform nor the availability of military experts had reached peak levels yet. I enjoyed ever second of this production.

Techno Thriller of the Highest Quality

I love the story overall. it was right down the line of Tom Clancy and other authors like that. the only thing that couldn't stand was the voiceover. I would have enjoyed it better if he had just used one voice the whole thing. his attempt at Korean and Chinese voices were comical. I was laughing at parts where I shouldn't be laughing because it was so bad

horrible voices

Moves along quickly. Very realistic rendition based on military truths. I highly reconnect this story.

A long book which ties a nice little knot around what is in the background of our US, Ukraine and Russia situation. Well written for it’s day and time. Enjoy 👍🏼👍🏼

Excellent performance in reading the book. At times I felt like I was watching it on the big screen.

Felt like a movie

A plausible version of a Second Korean War that I first enjoyed when it was first published. The story is as good as I remembered, but the narration lets down the story. The worst part is the Mock Oriental Accent the narrator uses for Korean characters.

Good Writing; Poor Narration

An engaging story, performed quite well. Despite the obvious war backdrop, it was enjoyable to hear, providing diversionary immersion with the plot, characters. and context.

Enjoyable story
