Publisher's summary

The grim reaper took a vacation....

Now all hell is breaking loose.

With an existential crisis looming over his head, Asher needs a break from reaping souls. But when he leaves his door to the underworld unattended, one escaped ghost threatens to turn the French Quarter into a haven for the hell-bound.

Oh, and that crisis he was trying to escape? Her name is Jasmine Lee, and she could be the death of him.

The literal death of Death. Yep. You heard that right.

There’s no such thing as too dead when it comes to necromancer Jasmine Lee. She’s never met a ghost she can’t tame, but when a thousand ornery spirits descend upon New Orleans, her secret weakness is a recipe for phantasmal disaster.

Holy ghost guts. She’s in trouble.

The unfairly hot reaper is the last person Jasmine wants to work with. But if she doesn’t help Asher wrangle the lost souls back to the underworld, there will be hell to pay.

Literally.

Enjoy a smoldering brush with Death in this fast, fun romantic comedy.

A Sexy Death... Why not?!

Parents: This is Not for kids or teens. R rated - There is quite a bit of bad language in this book. The violence is normal fantasy levels and sexual content is pretty heavy: lots of adult bedroom humor and pretty hard to miss insinuations and puns, along with a pretty detailed bedroom scene. This one was a bit cleaner then the Santa novella but still an adult read.

Beyond the warnings I enjoyed this one much more then I did Santa Got Run Over By a Vampire. I loved the twists and mash up with the necromancer's character and ability flaws, and the fun take on Reaper with his duties and personal flaws. The mix of two main characters and thrown in drama with the sudden consequence of a back log of souls waiting to move on because the reaper took an emotional holiday was definitely fun... not to mention the possessed cat. If a fun, comedic, paranormal, fantasy, romance, adventure sounds intriguing then this one's worth a shot.

The narrator does a great job, has good differentiation between characters, and is fun to listen to.

Great paranormal romance

I really loved this book's take on the paranormal genre. There were of course vampires and werewolves because where would any paranormal story be without them? But the two main characters were neither and that was refreshing.

The main female protagonist is written so astonishingly well, I'm sad she isn't someone I can meet because she is so very relatable. I loved her personality and the quirky way she thinks and speaks.

The main male protagonist was written very well also, I loved the inner thoughts we got to see from him. I love that he isn't just a generic vampire, werewolf, witch, etc. Not that I don't love those as well because I do but it was very interesting to see this new species I'd never really read about before be birthed onto the page here. Kudos to the author for her imagination and inventiveness.

My only real complaint here is that the story was so short! I hope we get to see more of them in future books.

great story

This is my second audio book by this author which is just as great as the first one I listened to. I enjoyed how the narrator brought the story and the characters to life using different tones of voice. They made it fun and easy to listen to. It is understandable and the narrator did a great job with it. This is a story about Asher and Jasmine. Asher leaves the door to the underworld unattended and now he finds himself in a crisis. Jasmine is a necromancer, she has never not been able to tame a ghost until now. Now that lost souls escaped the underworld and they are left to bring them back. Will they be able to bring them back in time? This is a really great story and kept me listening. I highly recommend this audible.

The Reaper and the Necromancer

Taking an unauthorized vacation leads to serious trouble for Asher. Jasmine is also affected. Working together might be the only way to fix things, but that may just lead to an unexpected result.

I’m loving this fun series by Carrie Pulkinen. There’s steam, humor, and lots of fun.

Hollie Jackson does a great job with the narration. Her portrayal of the characters matches exactly how I envision them.

A Necromancer and Reaper Rom-Com

What do you get when a Necromancer and a Reaper try to have a relationship? Confusion and trouble. When they share a kiss Jasmine thinks that her relationship with Asher is heading in a more romantic direction, but he takes off on her before anything can be clarified. When he decides that he needs a break from reaping he leaves his door to the underworld unattended and the consequences aren't very pretty. A ghost has escaped the underworld and is wreaking havoc in the French Quarter. The longer this spirit remains free the weaker Asher will become until he ceases to exist. He enlists the help of one of the most powerful Necromancers he knows, but she is reluctant to help as she is still hurt by their last encounter. Will Asher and Jasmine be able to wrangle this wryly ghost before the situation gets too dire?

Talking cat and romance from hell.

Fun, not quite normal characters that will surely entertain you as they did me.
I have the audio-book which I can recommend it to have you smiling at the witty commentary and ghostly adventures. Wonderfully narrated with humor and snark.

GHOSTLY DELIGHTFUL

FINDERS REAPERS is the fourth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. Though each book in this series will stand on its own, I highly, highly, highly recommend reading them all and in the order of release. You do not want to miss this fun visit to Paranormal New Orleans. This is a lot more than ghost stories about Marie Laveau. Me, personally, I squeal when there is a new Carrie Pulkinen story available.

Fun, funny, witty, angsty, passion, and lots of ghosts – this story is an absolute delight. The series just keeps getting better. Romantic comedy at its best! There is plenty of interaction with old friends, but still stands on its own.

Narration: Hollie Jackson could read the phone book and I would listen. She is flawless in presenting this story.

When a reaper takes a vacation...

This was my first book by Carrie Pulkinen and my VERY first time listening to a book rather than reading it. I am content with the audio version but tend to create different voices in my head when I read. It threw me off a bit that this book would have normally taken at least half the time to read, but it helped allow me to do other things while I got to submerge myself into a paranormal-filled world. The story itself was great, the narration was well-done, and the characters' dialogue made me laugh out loud a few times. I never knew that a reaper would want to take a vacation, nor that doing so could create such a great narrative. I loved both main characters and hope to see more of them in future books right after I go back and read the ones I missed so far!
