About this listen

I don’t usually fall for people - but Hawk? He’s different.

I’ve never really understood attraction in the usual way people think about it. I have to really know someone to fall for them, and my new best friend Hawk is ticking all the boxes. But like most things in life, it’s complicated.

His ex walked away from him and his baby girl, leaving him gun-shy and overcautious. I’m still recovering from a crash that’s left me with a bad case of PTSD and feeling weak and unworthy.

Spending every other weekend taking outdoorsman classes with Hawk is building me back up, and meeting his daughter Ellie is a bright spark in my life. But Hawk wants commitment, and I honestly don’t know if I’m ready to be a father.

When his ex walks back in the picture, will I lose all the love that’s been building between us?

Finding His Family is the fourth audiobook in the contemporary Benson Brothers series. Set in the small town of Bennett Wood, North Carolina, you won’t want to miss out on these sweet and steamy love stories! This audiobook, and every book in this series, can be enjoyed as a stand-alone title.

IT TAKES A REAL MAN TO MAKE A DIFFICULT DECISION

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Sean is one of the three triplets who needs to find his way after a car crash has given him anxiety and panic attacks. He meets his friend, Hawk, and must decide on their relationship and Hawk’s daughter. Their relationship leads one to believe in finding one’s way.

The narration is good on the voices. I loved the imitation of the little girl.

New beginnings

This was a great audio-book - all about starting over with a new beginning while at the same time overcoming the hurdles from your past. I enjoyed listening to Sean and Hawk fall into love. Being a single dad is hard, but add in trying to find true love at the same time and it makes for a great story. Gage McKenna's narration was spot on and a joy to listen to.

Enjoyable read

This is the fourth book in the Benson Brother Series. The store is about single father Hawk and his online BFF Sean. The two find out that they both live in the same town and decided to do an outdoorsman class. The chemistry was immediate once they started to hang out, which was a surprise to Sean who is demi. Sean and Hawk’s story was sweet and was nice seeing that both men realize that they both can and deserve love. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. The narration was very well done.

Great Story & Narration🎧 Sweet & Enjoyable!

I enjoyed this sweet romance it is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to, I adored both leads, Sean and Hawke. Sean met Hawke in an online chat room for nature lovers, they became friends and when they find out they are both interested in taking a nature course at a school that just opened up they decide to go together. Since Sean has issues about getting behind the wheel again after an accident Hawke picks him up. Sean does not fall for anyone easily but there is something about Hawke that really interests him. They get along great and there is great chemistry between them. I admired Hawke’s love and dedication to his daughter, Ellie. There was great family dynamics for both Sean and Hawke, with the exception of Hawke’s ex who was a jerk. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is plotted out nicely and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some moving and heartfelt moments and a great friends to lovers romance. Thank you J.P. Oliver & Linda Kandi for this great story.

Gage McKenna is a talented narrator and voice artist. He brings the characters to life giving them their voices and personality, as well as heart and attitude. He does a great job portraying the characters and projecting their emotions into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen🎧

emotion and heart

A great story of healing and growth, rebuilding trust and relationship. I was furious with the ex
and the unnecessary complications- but love and time win. Emotional story with heat. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Finding His Forever...

Not going to lie, I had to google what it means to be Demi. I was personally insulted that Sean felt he couldn't pursue a relationship while he was a Demi. I picked up my pitchfork a d was ready to throw down all based on the blurb. (Yes, I believe everyone deserves someone to love and be loved by regardless.) I may have been a little eager with my farm implements however, I know that I could put them to use! Roller wouldn't mind, he's a huge flirt anyway!

Finding His Family is a sweet story about to men who need the support and love they have been craving. One bitten twice shy, Hawk is wary. Sean is still trying to get past his trauma. Unaware of each other's needs, they cant help but be drawn to each other.

Their friendship and chemistry will make it inevitable. They just need to trust.

Gage McKenna is a new narrator for me and I'm happy to say I enjoyed his voice. His cadence and emphasis were right on. I look forward to discovering more of his work!

Kestrel Coffee

With the above phrase, I fell in love with the story and the characters. Small moments, shared adventures, can bring strangers to friends, and friends to lovers.

While my personal idea of enjoying nature is admiring a sunset, the team of Oliver & Kandi made hiking through a forest foraging for shelter and fresh food items interesting. The wildlife, especially the Kestrels, added a dimension of experience that helped bond our MCs.

Family is important, too, and leaving an ex to dangle harmlessly in the wind is not something our authors would do. Add in a toddler who loves her daddies, and life gets complicated.

This is a delightful, easy to listen to story, with just the right amount of secondary characters (who may get their own book), and whimsical neighbors.

Narrator Gage McKenna adds his own brand of neighs and snorts where appropriate. He makes the story fun.

delightful !

Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Were there any parts I found annoying: no
Did I feel an emotional connection to the characters: yes
Would I listen to it again: yes

I've enjoyed each of the Benson Brothers stories and Finding His Family is another great addition to the series. As with all these books, the pace is good, the characters interesting and the story is enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the way this book handled Hawke's issues as a single dad and Ellie as a bright spark still had her toddler moments!

I really enjoy Gage McKenna's narration, I find him easy to listen to and think he's done a great job bringing this book to life. Each Character's personality comes through, all the emotions are there and I was completely immersed in the audio experience.

Finding His Family is an easy listen that I will be happy to revisit again.
