Publisher's summary

Partners in every sense of the word, Sawyer and Jackson have been a unit since they were young teenagers. Growing up together in the same foster home, they learned they could depend only on each other. But when Kyler - a boy barely half their age - arrived heartbroken and scared, the young men took him under their wings, vowing to take care of him and protect him.

But then an unimaginable nightmare tears their world apart, separating Sawyer and Jackson from Kyler. Doing their best to keep their vow, even after disaster strikes, Sawyer and Jackson try to ensure Kyler is safe as he grows up without them.

Kyler always thought running from his past was his only option, until his past catches up with him in the form of Sawyer and Jackson. He finally realizes, maybe the only way forward is to go back to the past. But in doing so, the three of them find themselves embroiled in a family vendetta that spans decades, threatening to upend their world once again.

Will Sawyer and Jackson finally be able to fulfill their promise to keep Kyler safe - while proving they accept and love him for who he is - or will the odds always be stacked against them?

Contains mature themes.

Great story

Jackson and Sawyer intrigued me in past books and I’m glad that they finally got their story. I admit that the first few chapters were a bit rough, I felt like maybe I was missing some information but it was all brought up later on. Kyler was a fascinating character. I loved all the interactions between the three and seeing them all come together as a couple. Kyler’s family is also intriguing…I’m wondering if there will be a spin off or something with them in the future. I highly recommend this story.
Narration was spotty. There were a few times when Tristan was voicing female Kyler that it was a bit much but didn’t detract too much from the overall enjoyment.

Not her best story.

Not her best story. I like her stories because of the strong characters. This one felt like a afterthought. The voice actor was hard to listen to. I will not buy another book read by him.

Could have been better

I kept listening to it because of the characters from the other stories (they were awesome). I didn’t care for KY’S voice. The mob thing yeah didn’t care for that. But overall I would listen to the other stories again but not this one

What !

So destroyer was good which is blowing my mind because the fact that we went through all of that and then we didn’t get a proposal at the end I don’t understand. It’s crazy to me. Good stuff though.

if you want to kill some time, the book is sufficient

All the books in the series are prolonged. It really should be shorter. like...few hours at least... I found myself bored many times. but I was still curious about few things in the story so I kept on going. in this book, i really could not connect with Ky. I loved other MC's, but with him it was difficult...
the narration could be better. i had a feeling (in all books in this series) that the narrator was bored.

enjoyed it

Would I listen to it again: if I was in the mood for Tristan James
Did the story keep me engaged: for the most part
Was I invested in the characters: reasonably

First let me say I'm a big fan of Luna David and I love the Custos Security books, I really wanted to love Finding Ky, I enjoyed the story overall, but unfortunately it just lacked that "something", and the writing wasn't as tight as the others in the series to make it a hit for me.

⚠⚠⚠ WARNING: My comments contain "spoilers" ⚠⚠⚠

📖 Story comment: reasonable pace and likeable characters but the story felt a little all over the place.
I liked the way Kyler's "gender-fluidity" was written, the way he realizes be can actually be both sides of himself, and then the confidence in being themselves and then the way the characters around them asked their preferred pronouns.
I liked that Sawyer and Jackson understood and respected Ky's lack of experience and the combined backstory of the three as foster kids together worked well. I also liked the dynamic of the relationship and that each had their place in it.

What didn't work for me was Sawyers clairvoyance - it didn't really sit right with me for a "Custos Security" book and Ky's relationship with "The Mob" was a bit of a stretch.

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoy Tristan James as a narrator, and go through phases where he's all I listen too. His smooth even tones are just what the ragged edges of my soul need. There were part's of this book where the narration was slightly off for me though (generally when Ky was his female self), but it isn't enough that I wont listen to it again and I did like the way he narrated when Jackson was signing and Sawyer was translating for him - it made it easy to tell when Jax was "talking".

📌 Where does it fall on my personal scale? 6 and will still include it when i'm doing a series re-listen.
• 1 not my thing • 2 didn't like the narration • 3 didn't keep my attention • 4 was good, but once was enough • 5 enjoyed it • 6 will listen again if i'm in the mood for the narrator [4⭐] • 7 goes on the "re-listen" list [4⭐] • 8 kept me up past bed-time [4.5⭐] • 9 recommended to family/friends [4.75⭐] • 10 own it in multiple formats [5⭐] • 11 keep a copy with me at all times [5⭐]

Appealing characters

I liked the characters but not the book. It’s not good writing. It meanders and gets bogged down. Cheesy and overly sentimental, made worse by narration that is at times nearly campy. This series could be edited to be tighter. More mature writing could fix a lot of what made me cringe my way through. There are the makings of good books here, but someone needs to trim the weeds to bring them out. I would love to see them after a re-edit and re-recording.

There are so many fantastic audiobooks available. Skip this series. Save your money and your time for something better.

Story ok but...

I don't remember the book being this slow. Not sure if it is just the narrator that spoiled it for me but I could not finish this one.

Horrible Narration

The storyline was interesting but the narration was so painful I almost stopped listening. I might purchase the book and read it to see if I missed anything.
