Publisher's summary

Tuck is determined to keep Laurie safe, even if it means risking his own heart in the process.

Police Officer Tuck Chandler works hard to protect the citizens of Kitner, Texas. He’s also good at holding women at arm’s length. Jilted by his fiancée for his dedication to his job, he’s not about to open himself up to hurt like that again.

Laurie Blake is a struggling photographer. After growing up in a wealthy family, she’s determined to make it on her own, even if it means doing it the hard way.

When Tuck is assigned to a puzzling burglary involving Laurie’s fledgling photography business, he goes into it with his usual perseverance. He wants to help her - if she’ll let him. As the case unfolds and the mystery deepens, another question arises.

Sweet Romance, Mystery and Drama

Great listen! Tuck comes to the aid of Laurie after her car is broken into. Other mysterious break-ins around the quiet town seem strange at first then things get more serious. I loved seeing the pieces fit together and how Tuck and Laurie fit together too.
Theirs is a sweet romance.
Highly recommended!

Great Christian Romantic Mystery

I was not sure of what to expect but I'm so glad I decided to give this book a try! The story was very entertaining and kept me hooked through the end.

The religious aspect of it was light and the mystery kept me trying to figure out what was going on. The romance was sweet.

Laurie is a photographer that enjoys taking pictures of special needs kids and their families.

Tuck is a police officer that shows up when someone breaks into Laurie's car. The bizarre incidents don't stop there. Other places also get broken in. Could they be linked?

The Narrator did a great job bringing the story to life. It also concludes on a good note. There are no Cliffhangers!

mystery and romance

Great romance with an element of suspense and danger, too. Tuck is a heartbroken police officer along with Laurie the sweet photographer, there relationship grows into something special. If you like clean romance with a spiritual bent, you'll enjoy hearing this story.

Where is book 2?

This was an incredibly sweet romance with a little mystery woven in. Tuck and Laurie meet when Laurie's photography studio is broken into. Being a policeman, Tuck is protective, but his instincts with Laurie have him wanting to take care of her. He has been left before due to his job, so he is reluctant to begin a relationship. Laurie is definitely interested and with the mixed signals she is receiving from Tuck, she is confused and trying to make the best of it. Tuck begins to involve Laurie in his life by hiring her to take pictures of his nephew who is special needs. Laurie comes over to acquaint herself with him and immediately is enveloped into the family.

More break-ins and things happen around town as Tuck tries to piece together the mystery of why this is all happening and if the events are related. Finally with a break in the case, he is able to determine the problem. He and Laurie also come to know where their relationship stands(but I am not going to tell!) This book had just the right amount of suspense to keep you on the edge, wondering what was going to happen.

Melissa Moran created a very warm and happy performance. Her voice made you feel the emotion between Tuck and Laurie, their confusion, love and angst as things progressed and the break-ins occurred. I found her to be a very good narrator.

A Christian Right Love Story

This is a love story worthy of the Hallmark station. It has as much heat as a story between to middle-schoolers along with the politically Christian-right's moral authority to bear arms.
The narrator was very good.

Sweet Hallmark type of romance

I was disappointed because I enjoy mystery/suspense type of romance, but although there was a little mystery it was mostly just a slow, sweet romance.

Clean Sweet Story

Sweet story that addresses (somewhat simply and optimistically) problems of childhood autism, family stress when one spouse works in law enforcement, and the experience of children in wealthy families where parents travel and leave them behind with nannies. Families who love and support each other are shown persevering through challenges in life with strength and joy. Vaguely Christian in the sense that the main characters acknowledge the presence of God moving providentially in their lives.

Nice little romantic mystery

I listened to this book in one sitting. At just over five hours, it was the perfect length to listen to on a Sunday, while getting things done around the house. The story flows well, without getting boring. There's just enough mystery to make the book more than a romance. And, with the main character being a photographer specializing in special needs children, it gives you a new perspective on how families must adapt to make things work.

This book is categorized as a religious romance, but does not come across that way. You don't really notice it.

Melissa Moran was an excellent narrator. She's easy to listen to and you can tell she's read the book before recording it.

So good, I wanted more!

What starts out as a "whodunit" progresses into a very sweet love story. I loved the interaction with Tuck and Laurie, they may have tried to stay apart but fate had a different plan.

The narration was great and kept me engrossed the entire book!

Sweet Romantic Mystery

Any additional comments?

Sweet, clean romantic mystery with a little bit of suspense. Enjoyable and entertaining short story. Keeps your interest from start to finish.

Even though this is an categorized under inspirational/religious, it's not overly religious. Quite frankly I didn't even realize it was in this category until about half way through.

The story revolves around Laurie Blake a photographer and Tuck Chandler a police officer. Both great characters who you can't help but like and root for their HEA. The mystery aspect of the story is really good, it keeps you guessing up until almost the end.

Melissa Moran does a really good job with the narration. Pleasant voice. Clearly spoken. Smooth even pace. Nice character voices, it was easy to tell who was speaking at all times.
