How to launch a successful startup without embarrassing mistakes.
What if you could learn more from my failures than from all of Elon Musk's successes combined? Imagine if you could spare yourself years of heartache and self-loathing pounding your head against mistakes I've already made for you.
Amazon best-selling author Lucas Carlson presents an entrepreneurship book unlike any other out there. Most startup books focus on the successes of famous founders, but that success is riddled with egomaniacs and survivorship bias. For every one Steve Jobs, there were thousands of geeks just like him who did everything the same as Steve Jobs but never started Apple. So, following in Steve Jobs' footsteps might never again lead to success.
For that reason, Nassim Taleb and many others say that learning from mistakes is more robust than learning from successes, because almost everyone makes the same mistakes. The problem is most people aren't willing to be open, honest, and totally candid about their mistakes.
In this audiobook, you'll learn:
- How to use Bayesian statistics to pick startup ideas
- The startup killing problem with most mission statements
- Seven things most founders wish someone had told them at the start
- How to manage the difficult conversations
- How to make a marriage survive a startup
- How to think through splitting up equity in a company
- Bonus: How to manage founder psychology (some reviewers say this is the most important chapter in the book)
- Bonus: A philosophy of entrepreneurship that can add depth and meaning to your work
Listen to this audiobook to find out how to start a business and not make the most egregious errors that plague most founders.

"This book is a fantastic Entrepreneurship 101 course. If you are serious about building a company, this is where to start." (Tucker Max, New York Times number one best-selling author and entrepreneur)
I was given an audio copy of his book via Audioblast in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

I was really amazed at how helpful this book was. I listen to a lot of nonfiction books about business, and most of them are unhelpful (and self-indulgent) for 90% of the book or more. This book completely turned that ratio around. Not only will I listen again, but I just bought the book on Kindle to get more out of the lists and other useful info. Really well done.
The narration was lovely- just the right levels of clear and upbeat to keep me interested. I listened to the whole thing in one sitting.
So Helpful I'll Listen Again

4hr work week, by Tim Ferris. What does Chris Murray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Chris has a great voice, perfect for this title. I genuinely thought Lucas had narrated the book himself. Being from the UK some American accents can be grating, not this one though. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Lucas touches on personal points in his life - how he dealt with his Mum during a difficult time, how multiple ideas had failed. This is as real as it gets.Any additional comments?
Inspiring book which I'm going to listen to again. Loads of invaluable information.Entrepreneurship - This is as real as it gets

I have the same problem with Chris Murray that i have with the book, is he to funny? That is the ONLY thing that i have to say negative! Other that that he does a really good job! His voice is new for me, and i will remember his name, because if he reads out loud more books i will be there to give him more chances to impress me! In Finding Success in Failure: True Confessions from 10 Years of Startup Mistakes he does a good job, but maybe a to funny job!
