About this listen

She’s been waiting her whole life to meet a man like Alex. But he’s been waiting, too. And once he has her, he’ll never let her go....

Hannah has done everything to make sure her life is safe and secure. A long way from her unstable childhood growing up in foster care, she’s content with her sweet, little, messy apartment and her satisfying job as a social worker. She quietly worries that, aged 36, she might never fall in love. But otherwise her life is where she wants it to be.

Until, encouraged by her best friend to join a dating app, she meets Alex. He’s irresistibly handsome. He loves the same music as her. The same food as well. They both dream of travelling the world but agree they’d be equally happy escaping to a cottage by the beach in Devon. Both of them would love to own a Labrador one day. It’s like he’s made for her. It’s like he’s too good to be true.

Hannah’s friends aren’t so sure about him. But Hannah thinks he’s perfect.

Which is good. Because Alex knows she’s perfect for him, too. In fact, she’s exactly the girl he’s been looking for....

And nothing Hannah’s done to make her life safe will ever be enough.

A gripping and suspenseful psychological thriller about dark obsession and internet dating. Fans of The Wife Between Us, Friend Request, and Gone Girl will adore this twisted love story.

Praise for Sue Watson:

"Tense, atmospheric psychological thriller with more twists and turns than a rollercoaster. Impeccably written and a big fat 5***** from me. Awesome!" (Number one best-selling author Angela Marsons)

A well written story that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. Wonderful story with just a handful of characters that keep you entertained.

Red Flags

The narrator was great and the story I must say was a bit typical (as a 1st date) the lead character was so naive (I wanted to shake her) Turned out to be quite entertaining and I road the red flag train to the end of the line Predictable perhaps but it sure kept me interested

The writing was excellent the twist and turns

For Social Worker, she was quite codependent. I don’t think she worked on her own stuff but it was very good.

So so story, nice plot twist

This audiobook was middle of the road. The concept was good. The plot twist at the end was great. But there was too much niggling, whining, back and forth dialog that only served to annoy me. I understand the point was to show that the character could be impossible, But there were times I found it almost impossible to listen to. At one point I considered taking a hammer to my kindle and I love my kindle. This is not one that I would highly recommend. There are better psychological dramas out there.

A bit frustrating at parts but it keeps you in

I love this book so much, there are certain parts in the story where you’re questioning what the main character is doing because you think surely nobody can be this foolish. And mid way through you’re like c’mon nobody would sit through this but it makes you want to keep listening to hear what happens next and the ending I never saw coming, but you have to keep listening until the very end.

Wild Ride

Fabulous book! There were so many twists at the end which made it fun. I do have to say from reading other Sue Watson's books, she makes her main characters a little stupid & silly. They can't recognize the danger that's in front of their faces. They always make excuses for the people who want to harm them. Having said all that, her books are fun to listen to regardless of how naive the main character is. This book was no different. It was like the main character had a sign on her back saying, "Victimize me." You have to suspend belief that anyone could miss all the signs of danger, but that's fiction for you. All in all, it was a fun & twisty book. I enjoyed it immensely. The narrator was great. I enjoyed her performance. I recommend this book if you like psychological dramas.
