Publisher's summary

I met him in college, and I fell in love. It was a beautiful love, pure and perfect. Max quickly became everything I could have ever wanted. He was the jock, the popular guy, and I was just Belle - but he made me so much more. He gave me everything I could have ever wanted in life. But one night, one accident changed everything. The man I thought I knew disappeared. I can't tell you the exact moment he fell out of love with me, but he did. I wish I could tell you there was hope. That I hung on. That I fought. I wish I could tell you that we fixed it. But we couldn't, and I ran. In the dead of the night, I packed my things and left him. Five years later, I have returned. He's still the same man I left behind - a deadly underground fighter for the House of Obsidian. He's still dangerous. He's still broken. I still love him. We're both holding a secret, and that secret might just change everything.

spoiler alert

The H is a cheating jerk he tries to make the h a villain when she's not she did what was best for her and her baby.He has been with more than 20 girls in that 5 year and they are still married. He also had 5 years to fix things but he never looked for her (which she wasn't hard to find if he tried). I dont blame the h for not telling him she was pregnant i would have done the same thing. He was going off the deep end and she didn't know why. In my eyes ALL of the problems stems from him. You cant help someone if they dont want it. she should have just divorced him and moved on.

2.9 stars but could have been 4 stars.

I enjoyed the overall story and would have given it higher stars but for one big negative: (mild spoiler)

Victim blaming.

Something traumatized her husband and in turn he really lost his way. Drinking, drugs, disrespect, gambling, he stole all her money, disappeared for days, told her vile hateful things, including that he no longer loved her and that she should leave and start a new life.

fast forward five years and he is angry/hurt and blames her for not standing by him when he was going through his bad period. she agrees with him. What. The. Fuck.

Then the way they take it "slow"makes it sound like she has to prove herself to him. *eye roll*

The female narrator read the story but did very little voice acting. Male narrator was great.

5 years is abandonment in most states...

The emotional abuse and violence (MMA) were a bit much. There is no way in hell Anabelle should have tried to get back with Max. He was cheating, drinking, drugging and blowing money. She did the right thing in leaving, but file for divorce after 3 -6 months...who leaves for 5 years and expects to go back to normal.

Emotional Love Story

Absolutely a good love story with a HEA.
They met in college, fell in love and married. After Max witnessed a horrific accident and a loss of life he was never the same. He stopped communicating with “Bluebell,” became irresponsible which caused their marriage to suffer and later a breakdown.
Quote, “No I don’t love you we need to break” leaving the FMC to leave. Very good story would recommend.

Just OK . . .

Sorry, lacked depth, too predictable. Not enough Roger Wayne. A little too many curse words.

Such a good listen

I loved this book. Only thing I wished was different was her not having a confrontation with that nasty chick talking bad about her. I know that isn't her way, but it woild have been awesome.

Horrible storyline and horrible hero

Spoiler**
Not even sure where to begin. I guess I’ll say first, the writing is good. The character development is great and I do have empathy for both main characters. Having said that, the idea that the female in this story bears any equal blame for the way this marriage fell apart is a JOKE! It’s tragic that the author writes that into the storyline in a way that seems to equate the faults of the two characters because there is by far way more blame to be laid at the feet of the male character. Yes, he was spinning out of control in a MAJOR way. Absolutely, I can understand that. But as an adult, even a young adult and a married man who is actively trying to bring a child into the world to behave that way, even if he is suffering, I’m sorry, it’s on him. And quite frankly, the depths to which he spins out of control in such a short period of time, it’s very much not typical. Earlier in their history, he shows a whole lot more emotional growth and at a younger age. How much abuse is the female character supposed to suffer before she calls it quits not just for herself, but for their child’s future. She begged him multiple times to come clean and open up. Ladies, if your man is spinning out of control like this one, run, don’t walk! No amount of hotness, etc, is worth that level of abuse. And a quick little mea culpa should not be sufficient to let him back into your life or your child’s life. No matter the circumstances.

THIS is where the story went WAY wrong.

He needed to grovel and prove his worthiness far more and the fact that she wrote it as though the woman needed to earn back his trust on an equal level? NOPE.

These authors need to make women stronger.

I liked this story but he’s abusive and she’s weak. He screws around but she can’t, he throws in her face abuse it is hard at times hearing and reading it hear stories for once I’d love them making a woman stronger.
Great Narration and love the male narrators voice.

Holy Moses this book was EMOTIONAL... HOTTER THEN

One night. One accident. It changes everything.

Holy Moses this book was… EMOTIONAL... HOTTER THEN SIN... INTENSE...
Max and Belle’s Story rocked my world. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I can tell you it wasn’t that! This is my first Bella Jewel read, but I’m here to say it won’t be my last. Once I started this book I had to finish it. My kids want to kill me because I kept telling them to sit down I just need to read one more chapter, one more chapter turn into another and another. Before I knew it, I was finished all I could think about was starting it over, because I wanted more of Max and Blue Belle.

This isn't the man I married.
The man I married was strong, beautiful and pure.
The man I married cherished our lives together.
The man I married loved me.

Before I go crazy, let me tell you a little about this amazing story… Wait, how do I do that without giving too much away huh… This should be fun. Ready for the ride because I know I sure wasn’t.

Max and Belle are MARRIED but long from being together. Max being as anyone with a soul would be pushed Belle away. He didn’t know Belle had a secret though. A secret that may have just saved everything. Belle ran in the dead of night with no plans to return.

Five years later her life was turned upside down. I’m sure you are asking what happened. Well, if I told you that then there would be no sense in reading the story, so I’m not telling you… Any who as I was saying she’s back, but the Max she left is long gone in his place is this new Max. He’s a deadly underground fighter for the House of Obsidian. I guess I could mention… Nah never mind you just need to read it on your own.

“Max,
I just don’t think I can ever forgive you.
Belle.”

Ah! I’m so ready for Rainer and Raide’s Story. Bella please tell me you are not going to make me wait too long for more. Hopefully I get to hear more about Max and Belle as well.
